I know that her fans were hurt…but I support her calling them out. Jokes aside, we should be able to love and appreciate an artist’s work without attaching our entire selves to them. It’s unhealthy for everyone involved.

She cut the parasocial connection. Honestly, good. Literally, there are incidents of fans going crazy over a celebrity because they didn't turn out the way they expected them to be. To many people, spending way too much time online or following celebrities and not being part of the real world. It's so weird to obsess over someone's life and choices.

I never understood hero/idol worship. We’re all just people, some just have exceptional skill sets/intelligence/beauty, but they’re still just people and are no more important then anyone else.

I mean obviously you wouldn’t love your fans like on a personal level but you can love and appreciate the support, but I agree people get weird. Famous people don’t know you and you shouldn’t act like you know them or hold them at a god like status. Appreciate their work and artistry that’s as deep as it should go honestly.

Honestly they aren't teens and that's what terrifies me. I used to be a casual fan of things and decided to browse/interact with people in these fandoms. I was immediately traumatized. These are 21+ year old childish monsters. Messed up sense of socializing and they acted as if they knew these celebrities.

people need to learn the difference between love and appreciation. famous people don't know you like that or that you bought 20 copy's of their new stuff, but they still can appreciate someone for supporting what they wanted to do.
