The fact that the dancers in the back thought Beyoncé is calling out to them ("somebody's getting fired") and they start dancing aggressively is so hilarious
@@GagzoD82 Who were those dancers ? It was a quartet turned trio with vocalists and 4-3 parts harmonies not a dance troupe and a lead like Pussycat dollz
Ikr! Selena who just up and stopped looked like a pouting little girl, she might’ve been right to be upset but geez! Don’t show that anger to the audience!
the lady gaga one just makes me so happy and proud to be a little monster. The way she handled the situation and the backing dancers carried on and the way the crowd joined in made it magical even when it was a fail
As a sound engineer it absolutely sucks when something breaks on a live performance. This is also where I am thinking about ways to fix said problem in the fastest way possible.
yeah or get quality people to quit when they know if they make a single mistake or smthin breaks out of their control they will be fired regardless of situation
@@AP-xw5px yeah both machine and human error are very real and i dont actually give a damn what big public figure they are representing with their lights sometimes shit happens and the fact that its clearly incredibly rare says a lot in its own right. unjustly firing someone for a simple error that could very well be out of their control is not only being a bad boss, its being a bad role model for all those people you are so concerned about judging beyonce
Lady Gaga once again proving why she’s the best in the business. She wasn’t concerned with looking good, she was concerned about giving the audience their full 30 min concert.
@@KayHatesPeopleOfficial They also called Isaac Newton, Leonardo da Vinci, Darwin, and other people who were ahead of their time "crazy." Fun fact, those three were also vegan, as well as Galileo, Plato, and Einstein.
@@KayHatesPeopleOfficial Yes, I'll compare myself to other scientists and vegans, because we all come from the same background: People wanting to learn the truth and do what's right, not whats popular. I rather be like Leonardo da Vinci than be like you following Hitler, Stalin, and other cruel people who ignored compassion and science.
Gaga not only made sure to do right by the fans, she got them singing backup, they were so hyped. And the fact she even sang the vocal effects was iconic. Ariana got her mic so fast, I'm convinced she just shanked some techie and grabbed one. 😂
If you need autotune in your live sets you really should NOT be complaining about any mistakes the sound crew made. Mad respect to all the techs and engineers who make shows work, big and small. Without you guys there is no show.
yeah, and i get it! i mean they should have noticed that they didn't do the job properly and fix it asap, not just "wait if nobody notice" plus it could be frustrating if you have to stop your song, because something is not right(even if there was a rehearsal)
@@amidar6634 EXACTLY! They said that she was like almost finished her set before anyone did anything. The fact that she had to tell them shows how unprofessional they were.
Things go wrong all the time in professional performance. Tech issues happen the same way performers mess up, but technical designers and directors don’t make performers stop their show to go back and show off an amazing light cue. I get it’s the performers show so that’s a bit of an unfair comparison but these teams were definitely struggling to help the performers and get things back on track. While, in the case of Demi, having a minute was definitely helpful for them I think there are more polite ways for some of these performers to treat their tech crew
@@nigelchasworth8851 Yes technical issues are common. But if those issues affect the vocal performance the artist is the one getting bad press. Also the artist should be focus on their performance not technical issues. Yes there is a kinder way to say it. But also : you have a job pay attention.
As an amateur in the technical field, I am utterly terrified of these kinds of things happening. I've had my experiences with minor technical issues but to experience something at this level must be very mortifying. But I guess not everyone is perfect and can do everything correctly on the first run so there's bound to be some issues here and there. I just hope everyone's kind enough to appreciate the hard work the people in the technical- no, everyone in general who's working their best for a show the audience can enjoy. ❤️
Gaga.. professional as usual and she always puts on an epic show.. I remember when she 1st came out to Australia during this time and tickets were so cheap. Down To Earth and genuine performer. And till this day she still carries that energy.
Nicely compiled. That was vaguely humorous but not only for the technical mess up's (the dancing, music-styles/genre, audience-whooping-at-anything) :-)
After getting into so much Kpop and lipsyncing era lately, when I heard Lady Gaga's LIVE vocals without music I was blown away! I almost forgot that there are singers out there who are actually SINGERS
So is nobody gonna talk about how Perrie improvised her verse to let the tech workers know to step up instead of stopping the whole song for her group?
Aww Lady Gaga is such a beautiful soul and so professional - others seemed to go silent or get all huffy whereas she sang her heart out - proving why she’s won so many coveted awards ❤️
Im was in theater for a while, and I have soo much respect for the engeeners and stage crew ! Its a work full of pressure; I spent a day in their shoes and it was stressful !
Cause Lady Gaga and Beyonce are the only one that actually knows how to sing. Dont get me wrong their all incredibly successful and have managed to make loads of money and fame but none of them apart from lady gaga and Beyonce have any clue how to actually sing if you spoke to them about basic technique like portamento I have a feeling none of them would no how what it is or would know what it is but wouldn't do it right wich is obvious because they dont. Although this is only my opinion if you think otherwise that is brilliant and they’ve all made huge names for themselves which is amazing I just don’t think many modern day pop singers are that good anymore.
@@rosiegiesler4705 Ariana doesn't really make my preference of music, but she has been shown to know actually know singing techniques, as well as having a 4-octave range.. She is also an actual singer like Gaga and Beyonce.
Literally Literally lmao a singer can’t sing all the time some times they save the voice for the concert that people pay for so they sound nice live for their fans you don’t have to sing all the time as a artist it can cause serious damage to the vocal chords if you do
xPinkLava KittyHatterx No. They hire them for their “professionalism”. Not their fuck ups. The singers are there to give the expected experience PAID FOR by their audience.
@@m.p4345 But accidents and things happen.. . the techs are humans just as you can't expect Beyonce to be up there sounding perfect, everyone has off days.
@@pietra9209 We dont need to expect that from Beyoncé, because she always sounds perfect, she spends HOURS on her shows, her staff have said she will be there day and night till it's right because she wants to please her fans. Just watch any of her documentaries.
As someone learning to become a light and sound technician right now, this video gives me anxiety. There is a myriad of tech things that can go wrong during a show, a lot of them out of our immediate reach. But especially when it comes to really big artists and their shows, they should have a team skilled, big and organized enough to prevent most of them. But honestly, sometimes people are just sleeping on their cues.
@@misswaffles5339 So were the other celebrities but they got flustered very easily and were rude to the tech crew (who do mistakes just like the singers...). I'm not even a huge fan of Gaga but her ability to control her emotions was inspiring.
Mariah Foxx true I didn't know that performance was in 2009 but ever since she started her music career she seemed to know what she was doing( I just wasn't paying very good attention)
Justin Bieber honestly shouldn’t be famous that he is now he probably uses auto tune because he doesn’t think he’s a good enough singer to sing it without it
He's a younger Donald Trump; gets caught doing something and then blames someone else. LOL. But then again, singers w on't use autotune. That's a bullshit performance.
Nobody like mj who re-write his long on stage including "Tell me, tell me~ *job's gone* , I can't stop loving you~ *Brad what are u gonna do?* " Funniest sh*t ever.
Low-key I wanted to see that one clip of One Direction having a complete ball with their technical difficulty on stage when one of their songs (night changes) kept getting replayed over and over again after the first few notes 😂 they made the entire situation really fun while still stopping to give their tech department time to figure it out!
Selena never sings live without auto tune or lip sync even if you are talking about Justin, but I don’t care because she is till happy and making millions even if she does lip sync ALOT
You ever heard Justin live? Say what you will about his music, but that boy has a hell of a voice. His style might not be your cup of tea, but there's no denying the talent
Lmao they were just standing before she said and after she said they stayed the same for like 2 seconds, cause they were just waiting for the music lol
Props to Lady Gaga's on-stage crew that immediately picked up on humming the harmonies and melodies, and then even dropped a beatbox into there. They were like "fuck it, if the music's stopped but Lady Gaga wants to keep singing, let's go acapella baby!"
I don't think she was badmouthing other singers. I think she has a huge ego about how great of a singer she is (because she IS classically trained) and so she likes to point out this is a unique feature among pop singers who are usually selling their image and not their voice.
@@id3389 And Britney Spears, etc. Ariana may know she is super talented but she actually is so she can feel whatever she wants. But I do think a lot of times, she purposefully makes errors during live performances just to subconsciously tell people she's singing live. Her vocals are so much like the album, I think she has a fear people won't believe it's an un-autotuned or non-lip synched performance and she wants credit. Every talk show performance or award shows, she always has one moment where she trips and giggles or messes up a line and giggles. So I was saying I think the "at least you know I'm not lip synching" isn't a jab at others but more an indication that she's the real mccoy.
@@johnsmi213 She's *classically* trained? I thought she was only on Broadway? Does that count as "classical" training? I'm sorry I'm not trying to sound like rude or anything I just thought Broadway didn't count as classical haha
@@redreyes9994 yes ofcourse but i'm referring based from this video alone. in this vid, bey didn't have technical issue relating to her microphone... rather it is related to the lights. while the ones i mentioned like ariana for example, her microphone was not on and we can clearly heard there was only the music playing in the bg, which indicates she didn't need to lipsync her songs and same goes to gaga, little mix, and demi.
ngl as a person who has done theater and knows a lot of techies, the way that some of the celebrities reacted kinda made me panic because yeah it’s annoying and technical difficulties can ruin the show but also they have a hard job and i have no idea how backstage concert people run things but in stage production it’s hard and stressful and people getting mad doesn’t help
Im a sound engineer and sometimes I truly think is one of the most unrecognised jobs in the industry: If I do my job well, everybody takes it for granted and nobody even realises it, but if I do it badly then EVERYBODY realises it and it's all my fault. We got shit loads of things to plan and figure out for a live and sometimes it's really frustrating having to explain to an artist that their "little last minute change" is gonna fuck up the whole soundcheck. Sometimes artists just dont prepare enough for their lives and ask us to make miracles on their shitty, autotuned, reverbered and compressed voices.
Demi was quite rude imo, very passive aggressive which doesn’t help the sound/tech team in high pressure situations. Selena too. Being rich and famous doesn’t place them above anybody else, they need to learn to be polite and accept that mistakes can happen.
Having done live sound on a few occasions, this is the kind of stuff one doesn't want to happen. Though, Arianda Grande at 6:00 should have noticed quicker that something were wrong. This is part of the reason in ear monitors is a thing. Also, it isn't her responsibility to check the mic, larger events tends to have a mic technician back stage that does nothing else but ensure the right person gets the correct microphone. And that said microphone is actually charged and on. However, it would be wonderful if more events had mic tests before the speaker/singer goes onto stage, so that the sound technician can adjust the levels accordingly and also repeat back an "sound ok, next." in the IEM. (A lot of mixing tables do allow one to handle a channel in isolation from the main mix, set the levels and adjust everything on an aux channel before pushing it into the main mix when one has it adjusted. But not all mixers can do this. But I consider it a very useful feature.)
I understand that it’s frustrating, but a lot of people handled this insensitively. As an actor in theatre, the techies are putting all their effort into their work.
A lot of these big singers don't need auto tune they are all amazing. The problem is the label pushes them to make the perfect pitch/notes when they are recording the studio version. They even push past their own range. Often they sing on the best day possible and sing in small bits to achieve the sound the label wants for the singles. Fast forward to touring/live concerts and it's rough for them. Imaging singing and belting 5 nights in a row , singing for multiple hours a night and doing that all year. It's brutal on their vocal cords. So they attempt to keep the cords healthy by using tricks like auto tune. Plus it's really hard to sing if you can't hear yourself right. That's why they sound off when the voice is too loud in their ear. Anyway tons of people are in the music industry who can't sing, but the people on this list are all very talented singers.
ok i read this comment in the exact way he said it in like morning or something annd have been saying it since then. out of nowhere"weeeeee are having technical difficulties ,hey!
If they had him tuned (or had some other effects) in his mix it could've thrown off what he was hearing, for example if there's latency. Justin has countless "real live" vocal performances that are great
🤦🏼♂️ He had tune set up with the wrong scale, meaning when he sang it right, the tune corrected his voice to notes that don't go with the key of the song. Stop making these comments when you don't know what you're talking about.
This is EXACTLY why you don't use auto-tune in a live performance!!! I was a sound engineer for a few years and I've worked with performers that refused to use it because they knew damn well it would screw up their live performance. Then I worked with others that refused to perform without it and they had more problems than the ones that didn't use it. You use either a rack mount or a foot pedal to turn it off or on, so you're relying on electronics that can and will faulter.
@@userhasnousername she wasn't joke at all, sis was PISSED on that concert, y'all better be thankful she didn't say the actual name of the guy who was supposed to be fired
I am living with the fact Beyonce matched the "Somebody gettin' fired." with the beat and how quick it fixed after. I would have shit myself if I was the one who made that mistake lol
