I believe it’s because the winner gets stuck in to a contract as part of the prize, but the losers get to advance their career and make contacts immediately without being limited by that. At least that’s what I’ve heard
@@simplycookies was about to say the same thing. The last few "losers" usually get approached really quickly because it is as you say: They aren't the ones locked into what is usually a mediocre contract. Unless you are *really* good, first place is usually a career killer.
My friend in college was like “Hey we’re gonna listen to this artist I think you’ll like her” and we listened to Crybaby a good four or five times back to back and she’s one of my favorites
In a world where anyone who can sing becomes an recording artist, you have to show people something you can offer other than that voice. For Melanie, it was her style. Both fashion, vocals, and music videos. Even her lyrics are unique. That's the reason why she stood out. We've never seen someone like her before.

There are a looot of talented people with beautiful voices and style that don't get opportunities of showing their talent and becoming a singer Luckily, Melanie got the right opportunities she needed to showcase her talent, but unfortunately not everyone gets that chance

I remember Tessanne Chin, partly because she’s from Jamaica. She went on to start a family so that would explain why she isn’t on the music scene anymore.
I've noticed this with a lot of people who win these talent shows. You hear nothing of them after it's over. It's cool winning and all but what I think really matters, is putting in the work to actually become something afterwards. Melanie knew music was her destiny and it's why she's so successful in this area.
Ngl she was one of my first crushes. Her entire style and looks and voice and everything about her is so unique and wonderful. I was so sad with all that happened with fake friends her break and k-12 omg just everything about her is so amazing.
Tbh Casadee Pope is one of the best, she is famous before she even joined the voice. I love hey monday, and her vocals just blew my mind. One of the best season of the voice. She deserved that win
I absolutely love Melanie so much 🥰🥰🥰 I discovered her music when I was in a dark place in my life where I was questioning everything about myself and a lot of shit was going down (honestly still is going down) with my dad and Melanie being so open about who she is really helped me figure myself out and for that I will be forever great full to her 🥰
Yesss I’m glad more people are seeing Melanie. I love her and even though I have only listened to her for about three years watching her grow has been amazing. My very own music take inspiration from her and she is one of my favorite artists

I remember watching her on Fox right after “Big Bang theory” or “2 and a half men” was done for the night and seeing her perform because the voice came on like right after. Me and my grandfather saw her for the first time and we rooted for her. Now Im 17 and she’s about to release her 3rd Album this coming March and I’m just so happy. I’ve heard and seen Cassadee pope! Her vocals r amazing! She was in the band hey Monday. It was a pop-punk band. When I’m that band, she got to tour with all time low and fall out boy in 2008. She married the drummer of all time low (rian dawson). They broke up later but still. She is so good do a singer!

Pacify Her and Alphabet boy are such calming songs In my opinion. I also shouldn't be listening to her music being ss my age is nine but Mrs. Potato head goes for all, meaning that every song can be almost for all ages (Relatable) 6 and up. :)

If you haven’t listened to Melanie she is an absolute goddess of using different sounds in her music, the most beautiful vocals, and songs that have powerful meanings. You should REALLY CHECK HER OUT you won’t regret it
Same is true for almost every singing tv show. Not a lot of the winners saw big success, while eliminated contestants have reached big stardom. A lot has to do with the artistic direction they end up contracted to follow and the amount of promotion the label is willing to cover. It's sad seeing how many artists from the shows or even that had a solid career debut that disappear because of lack of promotion or labels keeping music from being released at all.
Lmaoooo. When you briefly showed the past winners, i was shocked cuz i had no idea Cassadee Pope (winner for Season 3 that Melanie Martinez was in) was in The Voice?? She's the only one i recognise because of her early pop rock career in Hey Monday.

This shows how truthful the statement of ppl in singing and acting who make it are the ones who don’t give up. She technically got rejected from the voice but she kept performing and kept her name out there. If ppl either stop or give up after so many rejections then you lose the chance to maybe get your name out there and become famous
Melanie has to be one of my all time favorite artists. The albums are very well composed, the songs are catchy to listen to, and yet they hide elements and themes that correspond with real life issues (ex. Dollhouse talks about dysfunctional families). I especially love the way that Melanie’s albums tell the story of Crybaby, her own character (Crybaby about her life at home, K-12 about her school, and Portals about her death and rebirth). What makes her even more talented is that she was able to direct and entire film based off the K-12 album. I’m impressed.

I started realizing this about the voice specifically about 10 seasons in. Its because the winners get locked into a shit contract and all their music gets shelved and underpormoted. Abd due to that contract they cant go anywhere elese to get ahead. The best way to win the voice is to get picked, get in air but not to win.
Sometimes “losers” end up being winners and it’s something funny cuz I can’t name no one who has won the voice except this beautiful and successful women and she didn’t win
another success: Juliet Sims. She was runner up season 2, if I remember correctly. She now goes by the stage name Lilith Czar and is picking up speed pretty fast within the rock/metal community, including opening for In This Moment on tour.
I wonder if the winners never got a career cuz they were like “why keep going? I won!” While the people who lost where maybe more like “I have to succeed I know I can be more”
It’s a competition show. Much like winning a school talent show where you might get a trophy at the end, or bragging rights. There’s no guarantees of making fame nor do they promise that. It’s who’s going to win the competition this year. Fame is just a bonus.
I actually heard the contracts for when you win that show really hinders your success as a artist which is why the winners of that show are forgotten and unheard of
Fr! Being a singer isn't just having a good voice but it's also/mostly about being able to produce a good song! You could have the most mid voice EVER, but being a talented creator can make a HUGE difference!
