Frank, I agree 100% with your statement. I will also add how embarrassing this is for Black people aggragately. We get criticized as Black people often because of adolescent results such as this. Lack of organization, lack of promptness. I hear all this talk about HBCU and traditions. This is a poor representation for Black people and HBCU regardless if the previous staff departed because processes should be in place preventing something as egregious as this from happening.... FAMU at full strength would have lost badly; however, the administration at FAMU is willing to sacrifice their depleted team for $450k - when will we ever respect our own?

True, there is a struggle at every dang HBCU. it's frustrating to see just how far behind the SWAC is. it seems that hell even Noth Dakota State, or schools like Appalachian State have grown. But it's like the HBCU stuck in mud. These schools need to go out get more innovative people, stop hiring frat and sorority folks or family folks. I follow all these head coaches and it seems they have no dang support. We want better but not willing to change or invest.

Why have a compliance person if the coach is responsible?

@@adriamitchell2296 The Compliance Person Needs to be supervised by someone and accountable as The Head Coach cannot blame anyone but himself for not being aware of the issues.

Prime can’t fix this. This is NCAA, he would have to appeal the decision, which they rarely do. Also, if he’s ineligible for the year that means he wasn’t eligible to play based on his transfer.

This is beyond Coach Prime's scope. This is NCAA business.

Are you seriously asking that question? We all know why there is an evident unwillingness to not only answer that question but to even address it. I am confident that is not a mystery to almost anyone. There will not be any mention of this by those in sports media who take every opportunity to voice praise and support for HBCU sports. I am confident that this will not be addressed by anyone on ESPN, including Stephen A. Smith who is wont to wear his HBCU jacket on certain occasions. And I am equally confident it will not be addressed on Andscape. Just as the incident with the Talib brothers and the shooting death of the youth football coach in Lancaster.

It could be grades or correct classes taken toward their degrees. You have to follow your specific major's curriculum.

It’s not his job! Coaches have so many things they are responsible for, they do not have time for this. Most schools have 2-3 counselors and advisers just for football. They had 1 for the athletic department!

@@jenjay0167 its not that difficult if its broken down by position groups and the position coaches and GA's try to keep track of it. But why did the football team have 1 academic advisor, why not just use the advisors from your program of study or the advisors that advise they students with an undeclared major??? If my major is business management, my advisors would be from the school of business.

@@d.tawannahill To deal with NCAA academics/egilbilty for student-athletes one has to be certified. Academic advisor for the regular student body are not trained or certified in this area . When u run an athletics department u gotta have some serious 💰 to make sure it runs like a well oil machine . HBCUs don’t have that type of cash laying around . They get it & spend it fast . Just like anything else if u want good employees u gotta 💰.

Running an FCS program is no joke . u gotta have that 💰ready so that u bring good support staff . Coach probably had an idea but didn’t have the details because the old AD took everybody with him . Which left a big hole in that athletic department. Don’t forget this may also hurt the basketball teams .

Do you not understand how embarrassing and detrimental this is to their entire program? It hurts recruiting and makes them virtually untouchable for future money games. As a JSU alum, I can tell you that putting out conspiracy theories that FAMU used the excuse of player ineligibility JUST so they would be healthy enough to play JSU is crazy and wrong.
