I remember learning this on Snare, freshman year in high school in 95. One of the Coolest cadence's. No lie, I caught stretch marks on my arms, from so much reaching to the sky, doing the sticking 😳😅. But one of my favorites , but we called this cadence "S&I". coming from BCC/BCU sudden IMPACT-Quints 99
Great memories from my HS band’s rip-off . We used to yell “Indi-eye” four times during the quiet snare portions with the heavy buildup to 1, eg 0:40. Then we yelled 2-measure “aaaaaaahhhhhh”s in the following section with more bass. I think I recall hearing MBC play a similar cadence back in the day as well.
Imagine capturing these musicians on the new iphone mic… u really will hear them Tom’s hum and bring heat on solo breaks… new drum line dont have the discipline for rudimentary…
Not sure if it stands for anything but it's something specific to FAMU's program. It's their own way of saying, "Kudos" to each other. It's considered very disrespectful for someone who didn't march in their program to say it.
