The tragedy is that 80% of HBCU audiences cannot appreciate the musical excellence of FAMU. They judge how good a band is based on how they play contemporary music. The 100 is a musician’s band, and that’s a lost art today.
But the majority of contemporary music they play sounds a mess. So many songs in the SWAC sound nothing like the original. It's just the drumline culture they hate. They hate the marches, drum cadences; unless you playing Boosie, NBAYoungBoy or Future as loud as you can; cranking... they looking at your program in a negative way. The culture is really dead. But these are the same people that say Jazz sound like a train wreck.
The 100 is can never be duplicated!!! Marching band sound at its perfection …they bring tears to my eyes everytime!!! So much love and respect for the 100
wow, very good...however, this is poorly arranged... maybe because it's for warmup a purpose...they have top a tier brass section they could have put the sheer power and dynamics into this song which made it lacking in performance for a 1000 marching band...i was just getting ready to have goosebumps but I didn't get that OMG feeling....this was a case when more would have been so much more and leaving people speechless....use the power of the brass (please rearrange this for the dramatic effects)...it's a band, not a symphony...but I do love hearing the deep bass...
