It's such a hype song and the line "I paved the way for everyone paving the way" is such a serve and Tablo was so right so say it 😎 It's interesting you say religion is taboo for American artists, I have the impression American rappers mention God all the time 😅 (see also J Cole's verse in on the street lol) and Americans love to thank God at award shows lmao... Also, I recently got into Ateez and I think you'd really enjoy their "Black Cat". It's a cover of a 90s K Pop song they did for a TV show called "Immortal Songs", but they completely transformed it into a horror-rock type tune. It's so amazing! There is a music video and a live performance from 2020 (the video is called Ateez - Black Cat KBS World TV 200829). To me, the live one hits even harder, but both are great :D

Epik High count as K-hiphop! And they are legends that paved way for those who pave the way, no lies detected:D I can remember also rapper Bobby from iKON (EpikHigh's juniors) talking about God and filming in church in his solo works, but Zico here also used a very witty wordplay: Jesus' name in Korean sounds the same as "Art" which is why he said ''I never lost faith in my Art (also Jesus)" =) K-hiphop rappers have amazing deep and unusual from Kpop lyrics a lot of times, especially artists like EH, CL, Zico, Bobby etc. This is also Born Hater version 2, that's why it's also filmed vertically. You should continue reacting to Epik High's MVs and songs for sure, their lyricism is always insane!

Epik High's Tablo said if 2NE1's CL didn't agree to be a featured artist on his song then it would never have seen the light of day. Epik High and 2NE1 used to be label mates at YG.

So glad this was recommended to you. I'm a huge K -Rap fan, so epic high, Zico, And sooo many others are great! Zico is a solo artist with his own label called KOZ. He has MV too. I think you will like them. CL is awesome! My daughter lives in Korea and attends the rap festivals every year. Have killer videos from barricade of Everybody! Anyway, Zico, Block B, Lee Young gi , all worth checking out.

so context all the kpop fandoms always argue over who paved the way. I personally do think bts paved the way but I also acknowledge epik high as people who heavily influenced them. and bts respect them so naturally armys should also. I feel like he was shading certain people in kpop fandoms because at this time there was a lot of talk and some groups and fans were overstepping from the newer generations of kpop. I see rumors many don't respect the seniors in general. but I remember a fight between armys, blinks, onces, and a few other fandoms that got big and reached indie and k rap and k rock fandoms and reached some idols and groups who interact online a lot especially the English speaking members of groups idk there's been lots of fights over the years but this one in particular stands out due to I think Tablo said something to defend bts and themselves and somehow that ended up with blinks and girl group stans sending him and his daughter threats. I may be mixing two different fights. but tablo gets dragged into mess sometimes cause he's very open on Twitter and him and tiger jk have openly embraced bts and were some of the only people from korean rap to do so. so naturally that upset kpop fans who hate bts and k rap fans who hate bts. all that to say "I paved the way for everyone who is paving the way " so he respect and acknowledge bts while not downplaying his own groups contributions. also about religion I read that majority of koreans are not religious then the ones who are, are Buddhist or catholic Christian and I believe muslim. but majority is not religious. all of bts have stated they don't have religion but some members have been curious about it and have beliefs that don't align with entire religion like tae for example prays to angels but still says he not religious, Jungkooks dad side is Christian and his moms side is Buddhist but him and his brother are non religious, rm has stated before he was a atheist but he sometimes mentions God and includes religious imagery in his music sometimes so maybe someone who's still figuring out if he does or doesn't believe. they are all very spiritual as well im not sure if that's korean culture or just them. but like believing in fate, stars, dreams etc hope this answers your questions :)
