Sunny Monroe y'know what, the more i think about it, this makes a lot of sense. It's very similar to when guys think it's okay to catcall (in this case yell "Mami" at a girl). Having that happen to oneself, I would imagine the feeling is similar; embarassing and uncomfortable. But idk how the idols must feel, I might be projecting. People should just treat others with respect, regardless of social dynamic.

I feel so bad for I.M and Shownu. I'll say things like "they're so hot omfg" but that's when I'm alone. In real life I wouldn't even be able to say "You're cute" with out feeling slightly embarrassed. How can some fangirls yell out "daddy" to an idol in public just like that? When I was in a hi-touch, I literally froze when I held my bias' hand. The security had to escort me and asked me to move along. The only thing that came out of my mouth was a weakass "annyonghaseyo". LOL. As much as I know I've had "impure thoughts" about my bias (ehheh sorry), I would never yell something that sexual or blatantly offensive to an idol, especially to my bias. Even if he doesn't understand in that same context. That's just rude.

Yelling Daddy at anyone, especially idols when you don't really know them personally is definitely NO! I have a guy friend who's really open to jokes like that and i'm like "zaddy yezzz zaddy!" but it's a joking thing and he knows it is. Korean idols are not our close friends. They don't know the intent of what we say in English, lots of the times because we have totally different slang than them. I really hate when people do that kind of stuff. I went to a B.A.P concert in America and i was screaming "HIMCHAN! YOURE MY FAVORITE! I LOVE YOU!" I could never imagine saying what that girl said to any idol. I would feel ashamed of myself. There's a fine line between showing affection towards a celebrity and just plain disrespecting them.

Saying Daddy to someone's face like that is a close equivalent to catcalling. There's less malice there but it's still meant in a sexually aggressive way 99% of the time. Keep that shit to your own social media and out of celeb's mentions. Same with the awful sexual aggressive choke me, strangle me, etc. It's alarming how normal those kinds of comments are becoming because fans think they won't see it. guess what? they do. I work in the entertainment industry in my country and it's really depressing watching these idols/musicians/actors (or whoever runs the account) go through their timelines to do a part of their job that should be really fun. It's draining emotionally and I totally understand why some agencies and some celebs don't have social accounts.

Cassandra Rudolph, I think many people don’t realize this is actually catcalling. It’s some of the most disgusting and disrespectful things you can do. There’s a video of a woman walking around New York, and she was getting catcalled by men in the streets. She was so uncomfortable, imagine how that could effect celebrities, assuming they get called “daddy” every time on tour, or after a show.

Tbfh, the whole calling someone daddy bs in person is sexual harassment to me. Its the exact same thing as some guy shouting "AYO MA" and whistling at you when you're walking down the street - its disrespectful and un called for cat calling which should just stay a joke on social media and not become apart of our real life interactions with anyone (unless you and the person you're calling daddy are actually into it.) To get to your fangirl question: I think calling somebody daddy non-ironically always has a sort of sexual undertone... so when you walk up to somebody you don't know (idol or not) and call him daddy it's hella weird and kind of disrespectful. I think you really have to have a good relationship with a person to start giving them nicknames let alone call them daddy soooo yeah girl was kinda rude to that poor member in my opinion. I really really think that no matter how obsessed you are with an Idol you have to be polite and respectful towards them because 1) you literally don't know them, just the personality they portray for the media and 2) being annoying/unpleasant in their presence only makes their job more exhausting for them because they literally can't tell you to shut up because they can't express any negative opinion (especially towards fans) in public... #rantisovernow #sorry

i think that you can jokingly say whatever you want with your friends, on your twitter/insta/snapchat. shit like shipping, kinks, really aggressive "love". but not directly towards that person. its really rude and invasive. i remembered that situation with a girl, who sent a video of her masturbaiting in response to yoongis tweet and im like girl. really? thats just straight up wrong on so many levels. people should know what is appropriate and what is not. we live in society after all, its just common sense. and in russia we call mc'donalds "makdak" with "a" as in "car" :D

If you say daddy between friends and they're okay with it, then that's fine (I do that) Daddy is mainly from the bdsm lifestyle of a daddy Dom and a baby girl/boy/ anything in between. Calling someone daddy in person unless you know them is gross and being sexual towards that person. Almost like catcalling girls on the street. I feel that name should be between friends and not in the public, or between you and your actual Dom or sub whichever you are in that relationship.

I don't think that it's really appropriate to yell at people like that, just in general. Famous or not. You never know what's really going to bother someone or make them uncomfortable. If they're your friend and you're just joking around, sure. If they're your significant other than it's a term of respect and endearment, absolutely. But, being a fan of someone doesn't mean you KNOW them. It could really make them uncomfortable. You never know. And, to address some of the other comments I've seen, there is a big difference between someone's Daddy and their daddy for a lot of people.
