Okay so let’s backup. I want to clear something up for the people who think Merlin’s death count is atrocious. I know that we as a fandom have really stuck to the whole ‘‘merlin hates killing’’ headcanon, and im sure its true, he kates killing but also knows there’s a necessity to it to protect the people he loves, but that doesn’t directly correlate to evaluating someones innocence or how good they are at heart, cz they literally live in the dark ages 😂 A time where everybody killed everybody because swords and the plague 💀 Merlin is also confirmed to be immortal so he lived through the entire early, high, and late Middle Ages, possibly the crusades too. My point being, he’s probably been in a lot of fights over the centuries. Yes killing is a horrible thing, but it isn’t inhumane or unexpected for people living in the Middle Ages/under those circumstances, to do.
