I’m actually very interested in reading a story from the perspective of a brick

I’m a sex repulsed asexual and one time needed to write a make out scene between two characters and I had no idea how to do that cause I didn’t know how it worked. Ended up frantically messaging my best friend and pleading for them to write said scene because I actively couldn’t figure it out. They agreed and it turned out wonderfully. (I had requested a wholesome make out scene, and they delivered it perfectly. I was even able to read it which is saying a lot cause that stuff normally grosses me out.)

I like to look back at all my notes just to get a feel of where I was mentally while writing. Turns out I was yelling about popcorn in chapter 5

God damn it, guys. We must stop spilling things in the notes. These readers are starting to realize we might not be as mentally stable as they thought.

I was reading an in-progress fic that updated a little slowly, like one chapter every two or three months. About fifteen chapters in, the author's note said "Well guys, I dropped out of college, which means I have more time to finish this fic!" Less than a month later, the fic was finished with a little under forty chapters.

For one of my author notes i wrote during the summer I wrote how I was going through a break up during a 94 wildfire heatwave, weeks of rain, a tornado, and risk of flooding and I realized I had become and AO3 fanfic author for real.

I say "sorry" in the author's note a lot in my fan-fic, but... sorry, I'm not sorry. I also tend to overexaggerate what happens to me so I can procrastinate. DANG, IT! I was supposed to write a chapter today, and here I am... procrastinating. (Quick note 2: I also tend to write what's in my mind. Example: pineapple on pizza isn't that bad.)

As a ex-fanfic writer, I was aware I had issues. I signed off me Author's note: - Mentally ill writer Which was very true. The fanfic in question was a murder mystery and the murderer was so fucking obvious. I am still confused how one of the people who(for some reason) always read the updates didn't realize. LIKE I LITERALLY ONLY WRITE THEIR INTERVIEW, HAD THE MAIN CHARACTER POINT HIM OUT AS "LOOKING WORRIED", HAD A SIDE CHARACTER SAY SOMETHING THAT LINED UP WITH THE MURDER'S VIEW CHAPTER AND HAD THE MAIN CHARACTER POINT OUT WHY HE HATED THE MURDER VICTIM MORE THAN THE OTHER SUSPECTS COMBINED

Anyone else want to read the brick story?

Usually I never see any fanfics I have read in these sort of videos. When I started watching this one, I was like, "I wonder if I'll encounter anything I've read. Nah, probably not." ... I got slapped in the face by one of my favorite fics between 5-6 mins and i audibly gasped. someone asked if i was okay and I just said "no" without thinking because I was in shock 😭

My mom, who has an MD, was sitting next to me, and she chuckled upon hearing the first one. She doesn’t write fanfiction, but she reads mine and I mainly write oneshots. (For those curious, most of them are gen fics nowadays, and I’ve never written smut, but I _did_ let her read my cringy Wattpad ship fics back in the day.)

Can confirm we are not okay I had a mental breakdown last night because I realized I (literally only) write hurt/comfort fluffy Gen close-besties-that-are-basically-siblings relationships because all the friends I have irl are SUPER shallow and would never love me unconditionally or would ever get close enough to me so I can dump my love on them unconditionally. I couldn't recover properly from this, because I vent my emotions onto characters. And it wouldn't be a proper vent onto a character thinking "I'm sad and I have no friends" without having the comfort at the end, but then that would prove that they have friends. Needless to say my 11:30pm brain decided to be sad that she had no friends and realized very quickly that she couldn't just project her feelings onto fictional characters, because those fictional characters have friends to comfort them.

I relate to 3:08 so much. I started writing for a series my friend got me into, and 90% of the fics I have for it are just my favorite character suffering. My A/N’s typically involve me explaining or warning people about stuff. I also once put the wrong tags for a fic, and no one seemed to notice. I only caught it because it appeared when I was searching a tag.

The asexual trying to write a sex scene got me right in the heart. I understand your pain, Insert_whitty_username. I understand it deeply

I have written some completely unhinged author's notes at random periods of time spanning back a decade in some super common fandoms, so I'm literally just waiting for the day where I'm watching one of these videos and I can point and say, "Hey, I wrote that!"

after i wrote my first fanfic, i went on vacation and full on passed out because i was stung by a jellyfish, two metres away from the sea. i could've drowned, but my dying brain went oouh lets swim to the rocks even though my vision is completely blacking out. and i will forever thank myself for that. because now i've gone on to write several more fanfics and my life is in shambles

Love how so many of these were from Mo Dao Zhu Shi/The Untamed/The Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation (this thing has too many names)

It's trippy seeing some of these and knowing exactly what fic they're from because you just binge read a shit ton of MDZS fics. Seeing the Sabikui Bisco one was a spiritual experience though, it's a comparatively niche fandom and one of my favorites.

Let me summarize for you this warriors fanfiction of crap me and my friends wrote There was a group of cats called the Firestar Haters Club. They hated Firestar and wanted to kill him. So they train in the dark forest, a cat called Bumblekit who is just bumblebee from WOF as a cat develops a crush on Mapleshade’s kit, Petalkit, then finds out he’s half Starclan and Petal just screams PLOT TWIST. So then Sandstorm starts crushing on Tigerstar (the first one) and they go on a romantic boat ride. Dark stripe (or dark tail I forgot) gets eaten by a giant bird. Sand confesses her Arachnophobia literally five seconds before Spottedleaf (with a Scottish accent) kicks Tiger off the boat to his death. Nightheart destroys teh earth in a pool of lava. After I wrote that everyone just slowly died and disappeared off the fic. Sometimes I open the google doc and think. What if we just wrote one more sentence. Then I ridicule myself because it’s already confusing enough. I swear this was supposed to be a normal fic, something went wrong but I’m happy.

I'm sex repulsed and just don't write explicit sex scenes and I prefer platonic relationships anyway. Although I've dipped my toes into describing make-out sessions with a little help from my bestie. Uh, a lot of help from my bestie. I also have to push a little for this one story I'm working on. :0 Anyway. I'm sure I can dig up some of my own least OK moments... "Gosh, I realize that I have thus far spent almost half of my 20s writing this trilogy. Don't know when I'll take a break again but I probably will at some point. There's still so much good stuff to come and I want to get it out there already, but if ya need a break, ya need a break." "I'm warning y'all now...
