I think RWBY needs more archery based characters.It would be cool to see one who didn't use their bow for only five seconds.

I just realized: after she shot that droids head off (3:12), she created a glyph at her foot and then at her wrist so the force pulling between them would give Vella the leverage she needed to bisect the headless droid. 🤔

Even after all of the characters have come out, she’s easily the best of the team. - Effective at any range - Semblance has a lot of utility - Wields, and I quote, “a bladed compound sniper bow.” - Super cute - Did I mention the “BLADED COMPOUND SNIPER BOW?”

Seems like they aren't trying to kill her but capture her alive, and she knew that? Explains why they jumped off the cliff and one of them tried to grab her in a saving gesture, like they thought she was trying to commit suicide to avoid capture or something. Their actions seem like they were fighting to subdue rather than kill. I mean, would she have jumped off the cliff if she knew they wouldn't come after her? She used that semblance on one of them to slow her fall. If she used it on the cliff to slow her fall she'd probably encounter the whiplash effect and have her arm ripped off due to how fast she was falling.

So it's a gun with a blade that transforms into a bow/gun hybrid? I think we've finally found it. The legendary gun-gun, revealed!

In surprised not many people noitced this But that quintuple backflip followed by the leg shot was amazing

3+ years later, this still holds up in terms of choreography. Everything after the transformation to the bow is especially brilliant.

My favourite segment of the video was the rapid fire bow part and the finisher after. I really like how you factored in a recoil element and didn't just have the bow be stagnant. Makes the suspension go up a couple notches. I also really like the utility in her ability like how she used it to finish the shield guy to make up for lack of strength

The graphics may be lower level but the cinematography, coreography, the music, and the timing were absolutely spot on, I enjoy this every time. I heard the music is from Black Butler; never heard of it, but this music was really spot on

A lot of OC semblances tend to be overpowered. This one is absolutely perfect. A great semblance, not over powered, and the weapon goes with her semblance so well. I love it.

Never did I expect to see a Barret 50. Cal That’s also a Bow That’s also a SMG That also has Blades attached to it

When fanmade animations are better than the current action scenes in the show

One day back at Bad Guys Inc HQ. Bad guy: "Ok so we have allocated the budget to build two death robots, how is the project coming along?" Scientist: "Brilliantly! We shall arm them with a sword and a shield" BG: "Wait, we are building death robots and are planning to give them swords and shields, are you sure that is optimal?" S: "No, no you misunderstand. One gets the sword and the other gets the shield." BG: ... S: "Look, death robots are expensive and budget was tight. We had to cut costs somewhere and I am not losing the cup holders."

*robots gang up on her * Me:”oh no i think she’s going to loose😢” *shoots bow with legs* Also me:Those robots still wanna fight

This is really incredible for something fan made. It reminds me of Monty's older work. A little polish on the environment, a bit less "dead" time, a more diverse use of the camera, and you've got something really promising. One interesting thing I noticed though, was that a majority of the action was shot from the side. Whenever you travelled around with the camera, it was almost always within 45 degrees of perpendicular to the space between two characters. Although this is a wide range of angles, it loses effectiveness as almost all of them begin to feel the same. It would have been great to see more happening by sweeping around the fights, showing other angles (such over the shoulder/directly behind, or a shot from below). While falling, there was more playing with the camera angle as they fought from different sides and such, but after that it seemed to die down. A lot of it was front-side or side, with a bit of back-side, and a couple front shots. They mostly stuck parallel to the ground as well, instead of having fun with looking up or down. One thing I noticed was a major lack in camera reactivity. For the most part, the fight happened and the camera just acted to try and show it. There was the odd interesting pan or angle here and there, but overall it wasn't working 'with' the fight. Instead of it being used to show impact and emphasis, it just moved about with the actions. A pretty decent and recent example of how a camera can react to a fight can be found in something like Red vs Blue, season 13, episode 18. For just about every attack, the camera movies with it, moving more violently with action and more subtly between moves, creating a small (but constant) tension and payoff. For instance, when the when one robot kicked off the other to chase down the cliff (really freaking awesome idea, by the way, it looked amazing), how come the camera just continued zooming away from the frame the action began in? How come the center didn't drop and follow the robot who fired downwards? The other bit that I noticed was awkward physics. The characters don't quite react to force naturally. Looking back on that awesome upside-down kickoff, how come the other robot wasn't shot upwards at all? Newton's 3rd law is at play here, so there should have been a force pushing upwards as well as downwards, causing shield robot to move upwards while the other fired downwards. The bullets shot from Viridian while she was falling should have sent her into a tumble, but instead there was just a light arm bending. You could have had her spinning in the air from the force of her gun firing (thanks Newton's 3rd law) and continuing to fight while doing ariel twirls, but instead she just had the same stability as she would have standing on the ground. So, yeah. You've got a lot of skill, and the animation was, for the most part, really great. The characters themselves all seemed to move really naturally (other than the whole Newton's 3rd law thing), and had a great fluidity to them. The way that they fought was also very unique and interesting, creating a captivating experience. It could just use some more advanced camera work to get the most out of the animation, some environment polish, and some focus on more realistic physics. Not perfect physics, animation has flexibility, but it needs to at least be believable. Cheers!

I love how so many people are talking about their theories and how great some of them are but one thing I noticed is that everyone(or almost everyone) seems to think the robots tried to save her after she jumped off. and theorizing that they were trying to kidnap her or bring her back home. I think they went after her because they knew she would survive that jump and needed ensure her death. she clearly knew what she was doing and we have seen in volume one all the huntsmen in training(with the exception of jaune who had no training prior) were completely calm with being launched into the air, and all made It back no problem.

The creativity on display here is along the same insane lines as Monty. *This* is what RWBY should be about: Epic action propped up by a vague storyline. The focus was always the combat, it was the delicious cake served on the platter of the rest of the show. RWBY shouldn't be people standing around in rooms spouting exposition: it's not RvB. It's launching kids off into a forest to fight monsters - it makes no sense, but it's a hundred times more satisfying than the current direction. RWBY needs you.

Holy shit. Normally, I don't watch fan animations. They tend to be pretty terrible. I'm making an exception for your channel. See, there were a few things I thought were a bit overused and such. However, they are all things that I would allow for a fan animation, and that's my point. This made me forget it was fanmade. I judged it like I would an actual RWBY episode, and I think that speaks volumes for the quality. Nice job. Also, the gunbow was a nice touch. However, if the bow's edges are bladed, why would you ever use the rifle form? It seems the bow is better all-around.

Okay my feel from this is that viridian is kinda like the underdog that eventually rises up to be either equal to or better than her teammates, like in her tough spot when she got knocked to the ground i mean the other characters got into tough spots too but she seemed like she had the most trouble out of all of them (except maybe regalia but she was up against a wannabe schnee) and i think this is because either, A viridian uses her semblance often which drains her aura, or B because she uses her semblance a lot she relies on it a lot but it makes her seem so normal. This isnt a rant about how bad viridian is but more of a hope/feel that if slvr gets a series I want that to be her character development and her arc could be kinda like weiss, she flees her family to become a huntress but her family wants her back which is why they send robots, not to kill her but to bring her home safely, which is also the reason why shes fighting them in her trailer

I woke up today having finished a mesh modelling course in blender and having started one for animation. I keep working on my "script/story" but i feel kinda empty having gone this far without any major breakthroughs, no new rwby episode or music and then i see silver trailer in my "watch again" list right now. at 11:26 pm. i check the date. 7 months "thats a while" i think and view your profile. a new vid. not 20 hours ago. Idea: She could be a daughter of a noble that doesn't want a noble and rich life, and wants to actually do stuff. Because, the robot-things seemed to want to save her after she intentionally fell of the cliff.

Just watched all of these through years later, knowing they existed but never giving them time. But seeing the improvement of combat style animation over the process of these four (I finished with this one, I know its out of order) is wildly impressive. Hopefully we see more shows in this style from small creators who aren't inspired by greed like RT.

Now that I've watched it a second time, I've noticed how your animation has become much more fluid. The camera angles are better as they change appropriately with good variation. I also have no knowledge on animations to back up my statements. XD My favorite part is when she shot with her feet. :3

I really enjoyed the fighting style and the transition beetween defensive/agressive! Just an opinion, you need to have a bit of sound when she uses her ability, would make it so much better... Just stumbled across these trailers. I think this one is the best so far, really shines in terms of creativity with the weapon, semblance, and fight choreography. Plus a female character who doesn't have the exact same face as 90% of the population! I love it.

In my headcannon, this right here is the reason she took so long for the regalia trailer. do you SEE how far she just fell?? it's a vertical cliff with no faces on it at all! this would be so hard to climb, even with her semblance.

I don't follow your work, so I didn't know what to expect going into this. This is surprisingly very good. 2:43 was very creative.

This is so cool. Maybe - since it’s similar in appearance to glyphs - you could call her semblance “sigils”. A semblance whereby she is able to pull objects or “call forth” things that she draws them on. I love this animation soooo much too.

really love how she used her Semblance to increase the travel speed of the bullet at 2:53 very nice touch

If you think about it, her Semblance allows her to manipulate the gravitational pull between any objects she binds with her glyph.
