Fanmade Source Code Updates for GTA III & VC 

Horrible! Everyone should go dislike Rockstar's latest GTA video, and let them know we don't support Take two doing this

This is really disappointing. If Rockstar wants to milk GTA V Online, fine they can squeeze all the money they want out of it. But leave the modders that make their older games still worth playing alone. Rockstar isn't even making any money from those older games. They gotta stop getting butthurt that modders are doing for free what Rockstar would've charged us to play. They should just stick to V Online and leave their other games alone, and let modders do what they want. Because right now, they are looking like serious assholes to the entire gaming community.

Actually because this is very illegal in any closed-source software because they reversed engineered it. I may or may not downloaded the source code just in case *when* the mod is taken down.

@@UniverseOfDreams It's (not) surprising how awful the remastered versions despite the fact that you can already tell why they are awful by knowing that those remastered versions are made by the same people to made the buggy mobile port!

This aged like wine, since the source code for GTA SA was leaked because of GTA Trilogy, what you want will most likely happen.

Yeah they're unfortunately doing a remaster of III, Vice City, and SA (what will inevitably be pretty close to the shittiest renditions of these fucking games btw, thanks Take-Two!!) and they've also taken them off of Steam, though if you have these games in your library they will stay there and you can play them/mod them or do whatever. It is extremely frustrating dealing with game devs holier-than-thou "we are always right and we always win" attitude when it comes to their IPs that they don't actually care about anymore and just want to milk for money for the rest of time while erasing the older (and usually better) versions of their games.

@@agent1787 I'd seen that. I looked it up when new trilogy came out and the download was still up for both. I got RE3 up and running without much issue.

They did fought back and got it back online only for a short period of time, then take two did an strategy and proceed and sued all the creators first. After that having them all on court they issued another DMCA notice again on the page & took it down finally on this month, take two took it very seriously!!

@@saibot20194 It's entirely possible for TakeTwo to lose this lawsuit, as the whole "reverse engineering source code" business is a very grey area. So we might get the repository back, but don't get your hopes up yet

@@ScientistHL Basically the modders have the upper hand on this, because they created all the code by the modders themselves so most likely taketwo will loose. On the other hand Nintendo didn't even bothered on having the Mario 64 src decompilation team on court because they already knew so they avoided and save themselves time and embarrassment so they leave the repository as it is for now.... Until laws change of course but they will be watching them on a side like Bengal tigers hunting for their prey lol but for now they sit & watch until laws change like I said before so this will be the same situation for taketwo.

@@saibot20194 However it outright states and has stated for years in Take2s terms of service that you cannot reverse engineer their games, so they can use that to their advantage

@@ScientistHL My guess is TakeTwo has much deeper pockets than the creators of this mod. Often times with lawsuits the process is punishment enough, and it might mean that even if they're in the wrong TakeTwo could still strongarm the little guys into submitting. Which sucks - but that's just the way it is. This isn't the same company that kept pushing the envelope and innovating for years in the 2000s - this is a company that makes bank every year by churning out the same game over and over and over. They've gone the way of EA.

Nah, people who reversed engineered it just ported it from Vice City I think. That wasn't in the original game at all, it was added in by them

Nah, not from these authors. There's a thing out there called Re:LCS (short for Remake: LCS i think) which DOES "port" it to PC but I think it's been taken down... with RE:3, RE:VC, & RE:LCS, it requires you to own the game first Edit: nvm, Re:LCS is fine, apparently the author asked sneed (or someone) to just hide it for now

Nah, just the mobile versions, which they have some gameplay improvements.

I use SCP Toolkit for my DualShock controllers, however many have speculated it's not the safest thing in the world, nor is it packaged well whatsoever. Honestly, it's a hot garbage program, but the things I'll suggest next don't work for me and I'm lazy to find out why: I'd suggest trying DS4 Windows, or maybe x360c, if you need more alternatives then head hereeeee: alternativeto.net/

San Andreas counts on more lines of code than these two. Then the problem with T2 started, ever before they could get on "reSA".

Fun Fact: If you own a copy of the 'remastered' GTA Trilogy, you can get a copy of the original games for free

i7-7700HQ 2.80GHz GTX 1060 3gb 16 GB RAM It's a laptop, got it years ago. It's called the Lenovo y520 or something, wouldn't suggest getting it tho. The specs are nice, but if you don't move a lot, a laptop is just worse for upgrading and temperature

The definitive edition is the biggest waste of $60 in my opinion on this. They shutdown all of these fan made mods just to give us a half baked remaster that's nothing more than a buggy mess and a glorified mobile port in reality.
