That’s a great question! You can actually bring your bag into pretty much any ride! Most of them will have a pouch right in front of your seat or you can put them on the floor between your legs.
Fanny packs are definitely the way to go for universal to avoid the lockers. I don’t like backpacks as much for sweat reasons haha. Buy souvenirs at the end of the day to avoid carrying it.
I would actually love to go bagless to the parks but I don’t think that’s going to happen in my lifetime 😁 so... we are team backpack, just because of the amount of stuff I always feel like I need. I totally have the “ you need to be prepared for everything” Mom disease.
@@Thatgirl009 we put them at our feet while riding the rides. Except for in Soarin’, they have a large pouch under your seat that most backpacks fit it
I visited Disneyland yesterday for the first time (got my button!) and even my small backpack was cumbersome on rides. I just bought a small multi-pocket sling pack on amazon that is worn on the chest. Definitely think it's the better option for me! (Cups of ice water are free in almost every restaurant so don't need a water bottle) Plus a decent reusable poncho will still fit in the sling and cover the sling when worn. Biggest con being gloves/beanie/sweater won't fit in it for when it gets cold at night...might need a locker for that.
We for sure prefer smaller bags!! It makes the day MUCH more enjoyable. And paying the little bit extra for a park locker is totally worth it to be able to shed those layers!
The fanny packs are actually bigger now more so than the ones from back then. They felt like carrying little tiny coin purses but those were fanny packs back then. Now,,, they actually look more like little backpacks but for the front. Well, their was some that had water bottle holders i do believe back then. The fanny pack is actually making its way back and it is great because it is actually nice to carry a front pouch. Some people think that it makes you look super fat or it looks like you are having a baby hahaha but that is not true. You got to get use to it and once you carry a pouch you will like it. Course the backpack had its wind of jokes as well because people sometimes would feel like it was the hunts back of notrademe. Hahahahahahaha but for me i love carrying both. If i carry a backpack i have to have a pouch with it. It is nice to have that separate pouch. I like to think of the fanny pack as a junk drawer for all your traveling essentials. If I have my backpack that i carry around for just hanging out for the day I have a front pouch with it. I can charge my phone up in my backpack but the fanny pack does not have a charger in it. A lot of the modern day backpacks do have a U.S.B port so you can charge your phone. I like the fact that i can distribute the weight and it is balanced. The front pouch is good because you can easily access all of the things that you have trouble accessing as if you were to take your backpack off and search for it. You keep things that you need for the day the things you need to most up front in a pouch and the backpack holds the things that can wait to bee used. Once you have a fanny pack on you it takes some time getting use to but you will fall in love with it. You may feel a bit like a kangaroo but it is so worth it.
I am #teambackpack. The only con I agree with is that it can get awkward on the rides but it is totally doable. The closest instance I had to being problematic was riding Space Mountain and having my huge backpack between my legs with the ride bar down. But it wasn't too bad though and it can work ! I walk in the parks with a close to empty backpack and leave with a full bag of merchandise !
I know that this is for Disney bu when I am just hanging around and bouncing around I take both a backpack and a fanny pack. It helps distribute the weight. The front pouch is a compliment to the backpack and it is nice to have both.
@@kaylaandmarkalan so true. I mean if their are people out their who are crazy about buying pouches I am one of them. I love the pouch. I mean my backpacks of course have pouches but it is nice to have a separate pouch. I love both backpacks and fanny packs. And I thought girls like pouches hahahahahahaha i am a guy and I love them. I think that some guys like myself well, we carry a lot of things and having things in our pockets looks to dorky. Pockets are very pooched out and when you go to sit it is uneven and that is where the pouch comes in. I think too some people are ashamed to carry a pouch in front because they say it makes them look like a very fat or pregnant. Person that is so not true at all….. you just have to get use to have a pouch on you. I mean the backpack is the same but it is on your back not up front. So to this I say lets wear a fanny pack today and keep using backpacks. It is like sugar and tea or coffee and doughnuts. They compliment each other very well well the backpack and a front pouch compliment very well.
I actually when with the family have both. Fanny pack for Credit Cards and $, backpack for everything else. When I went on my Solo trip all I needed was a fanny pack. Great Video as always.
I am so with you man!!!! I do have both a backpack and fanny pack when ever i am hanging out. If i am going out for the day I love to take both. It is awesome. Front pouch is great for many things but if you need to charge your phone you got the backpack their. The front pouch is and holds items that you need right away but the items in the backpack can wait till you get to where you need to bee. So glad that people are staring to use fanny packs again. I ordered fanny packs off of amazon. I had one back in the 1990’s and it had a water bottle holder. Then I had a really tiny one that just held basically money. I think that they have gotten bigger now that they made a come back. Yea. It takes some getting use to but it is so worth it. And it gives you less things to put in your pockets. You can free your pockets up with a fanny pack. It is like having extra pockets.
Another great video giving us plenty to think about, I hate carrying anything 🤔 June normally has both & she packs so much stuff in them we have to take everything out to find what we want 🤣 Our 3 kids always end up giving Mum everything to carry too 🙄 , Thanks for sharing, we enjoyed watching, hope your having a nice weekend, take Care 👍🥰🤩🇬🇧
Thank you so much!!! It’s definitely hard to narrow down what to bring. You want to make sure you’re prepared for anything!!! I think that’s what we like about the fanny packs, they kinda force you into not bringing too much. Lol
Team backpack! Right now I’m about loungefly mini backpacks so they’re not too big but they can fit my umbrella so I’m always ready for that afternoon downpour lol
@@kaylaandmarkalan Yeah, I get it. We just like our bags to be as lightweight as possible... but after a long day in a park, the drawstring can sometimes start to cut into your shoulder.
I strongly believe I'm for both fanny packs and backpacks, to be honest, because they're both important. I've been having a hard time wondering if I want a mini backpack from Loungefly, or get this really cute water-proof fanny pack from Amazon. I also have this cool Loungefly purse that's kind of huge, so that would work too.
Haha I totally feel that! I feel like I always bring at least 3 different bags with me on our trips because it always depends on how I’m feeling that day!
I'm team fanny pack! But forced to be team back pack :( I feel compelled to bring my water bottle everywhere and I need a place to put my kid's layers (hoodies) since we usually do Disneyland where the temps start out chilly, get hot, then end chilly again. Really prefer travel light tho!! Thanks for the bag recs!!!
You might look into park lockers! They are usually not too terribly expensive, but are great for storing things like layers so you don’t have to carry so much during the day!
When you send your souvenirs to the front of the pack, how do you pick them up (like will they just take your word and you can get your stuff or do you show ID, or what)? And by front of the park, do you mean the ticket gate? Just trying to make sure because I will be going to an theme park soon
Currently this option is unavailable, but if/when it does come back, they usually give you a ticket different than your receipt. You will show this to the cast members at guest relations to get your item. Depending on the park, this pickup location may change, so be sure to ask a cast member where pickup would be.
I gotta have both Fanny pack for small items like loose change I don’t want falling out my pocket if on a ride that goes upside down, phone and power bank I can quickly access without removing backpack and use backpack for larger items like snacks, rain gear and souvenirs u don’t want to carry around all day that can fit in pack so I always take Fanny pack and back pack and they don’t weigh me down because I try not to carry bulky stuff like I substitute my bulky slr for a smaller compact point and shoot camera that’s just as powerful as slr and a collapsible water bottle so when empty it weighs virtually nothing
You will take your bag with you on the rides! Most of the more intense rides have a small pouch for loose items like hats and sunglasses, but your bag will be at your feet during the ride. (don't worry, your bag won't fall out of the ride!) Tron is a little different as you will have a locker to put your items in for that attraction. I am going solo in May (which is a humid time to go to Disney meaning I sweat) and I don't like carrying a backpack around Disney. I am considering a fannypack for walking around the parks and getting a locker at the front of the park to store like poncho and sweatshirt and snacks that dont fit in the fannnypack. Thoughts?
Honestly, I would say no to any large backpack. For the most part, as someone who goes to the parks all the time now as locals, we almost always use a fanny pack or a smaller backpack. Large backpacks are HOT and almost always get overfilled and become painful after all day in the parks. Any other great tip if you have something that won’t fit in a smaller bag is to rent a locker at the front of the park! Hope that helps! 💛
I love having both on me. I have a backpack for everything. Even brief cases for work. I have different backpacks so that way I can just grab what ever one I want and go. I don’t have to switch the gear from one and toss it aside. All the backpacks have their certain gear ready to go even my big huge commuter backpacks for work and brief cases. If I have to transfer something it is very minnamal. Fanny packs are great because they hold the stuff you want to get to at the moment. I do carry both and I love them both. Oh and if you see a little kid misbehaving you can snatch them away from their parents in a park and put them in your pack hahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!! Just kidding.
Yes! Disney is pretty good at allowing bags on rides! There is usually a pouch in front of your seat or they have you place it on the floor between your legs.
@@kaylaandmarkalan wow thanks for your quick response! I’m not going to Disney but Busch gardens Williamsburg, VA. Their coasters are a bit more intense and don’t want to get a locker so I guess I will take my chances.
