My dad came to Canada during the 70s. Salming was one of the main reasons my dad grew to love the leafs and hockey ( and passed this love for game on to me). Rest In Peace king and may you family find comfort in all your happy memories during this difficult time.
My all-time favourite player.. Had a poster of "The Great Borje Salming" on my wall.. Rest in Eternal Peace Sir.. Heartfelt condolences to his family and friends..
So heart breaking. So glad he got honored in Toronto before his passing. The Toronto Maple Leafs and especially Darryl knew this was coming, what an amazing few weeks they gave Borje.
His family said that the tribute in Toronto was the happiest day of his life since contracting ALS... So happy that he was able to participate and so happy for him and his family and happy that we were part of it too!
Flyers fan here. Having said that, Borje was one of my all time favorite Hockey Players. Incredible talent, tough as nails. and a Gentlmen off the ice. I have lost two of my relatives to ALS. It may very well be the cruelest disease of them all. Strips you of everything you have and the loves ones who have to bear witness to the destruction. RIP Borje Salming..Legend and Ambassador to Hockey and Sweden.

R.I.P. Börje. You will never be forgotten by the international hockey community! ALS is a terrible disease. I feel so sorry for his family, especially his young daughter, hepathlon athlete Bianca.
