I like unique things too. It's still bumming me out that we're still in this "everything must be MP!" fad. It gets old seeing the same styling all the time even if the engineering is different.
Oh I bet that would look so much better on the Blue Leg KO Magnus the colours would suit that so well. They are the wrong shade for Classics or United Magnus to look right with the set. The KOLD Powered Konvoy would look nice with that too. I HAVE TO STRONGLY disagree with the idea of forcing fist removal - i'd rather have the option of leaving them on - hopefully that is still possible with the new fists. by leaving the old one folded down - I don't want to unscrew pieces unless I happen to find a donor body to wear such a kit all the time it is going to get removed sometimes and I like the basic white Magnus to much to want to cover him up. My Classics Magnus is wearing a City command my KOLD Blue convoy is wearing dia-commander and my other white United Magnus is wearing the mostly white KO city commander armour. I guess I'll have to keep a look out for yet another magnus then in case I ever get this.
So, they did _one more_ kind of armor for the classic Optimus mold. But this time, this make for a slightly bigger truck and bot with minimal partforming. Heh, why not? I'll never buy this because I already have the City Commander set and it's perfect. Especially because CC make my Magnus look very G1. But this armor is awesome enough. I may consider selling my Shadow Commander kit and buy this if they ever make a black version.
This is the most unnecessary upgrade kit I've seen. It looks okay but it's an upgrade kid for a ten year old figure. Why not just do an improved updated city commander kit?
Mmmmmeh... Fansproject is going a bit downhill for me. I don't like many of the new designs, they look outdated and prototype-ish compared to the stuff other third party companies are putting out.
Hello, do you know if the head is on a ball peg and if it is, how big is it? I like the armor set, I'm just not a big fan of the head sculpt. Thank you!
The truck mode looks very nice. Those few changes they improve both modes... Truck more so, but even the bot has improved a bit. IDK if it's the deco, or the small tweaks, but the proportions improved a bit. The hands are still oversized, and annoying given they're not gloves to put over the old hands. Those wheel bits still bug me. On the old TFX Trailer kit, they made wheels that matched the bots. This replaces it with boring, unpainted wheels. One more change that would have been neat for the Magnus version, would be that the Wind Vane turning into a Hammer, not more guns. Also, not a fan of the guns... It's still ultimately a very odd entry to their toyline. Magnus finally has a *good* entry for a CHUG toyline, and even a Masterpiece. Prime has had *several* new figures both officially and via Third Parties...
I never had the chance to order the City Commander kit, so I'm rather grateful I can buy this to Ultra my Classics Magnus without having to find the old kit on eBay.
I'm surprised they're still doing stuff for this Prime/Magnus mold. Though I quite liked City Commander better as an armour set, I don't actually know what this design is from. Could someone explain? (I would also like it if peaugh put the name of the actual character in parentheses when it's a third party set.)
There was no CW Ultra Magnus. There was a piloted suit of armor that looks like him released in the CW line, and for some stupid reason labeled "Ultra Magnus", but that wasn't him.
I'm looking forward to both of these! Not looking forward to trying to find affordable versions of the base mold again. May go KO since I saw several places that I'll be gluing my FP bits on permanently. My only problem for each: Prime's shoulder cannons are too big- out of scale. Magnus needs the shoulder pillars! Plus some unique weapon accessories would have been nice. It is odd to be releasing these now, but they've made a lot of odd choices historically. It'd be great to chat w the company owners to pick their brains.
Peri clod in the video he's using united magnus, but it's basically the same as the classics one with white where most of the blue is on classics magnus.
