There’s actually a slot that forms from his legs in alt mode to hold the gun in the back. It holds very securely there. The manual points to a higher spot to put the gun
Another great review Bobby! It was nice to see FansToys get back to the basics, after their last few bots were challenges. Also nice to see a stand for a flying bot, (shame Springer didn’t get one). But what I didn’t hear from the review was any of the FansToys Squeaks! Maybe they finally hit the mark. Mines on the way, and I can’t wait for their Skullcruncher and maybe a Scorponok to fully finish the Headmasters! “Head-On!”
This is totally off topic, but would you be interested in making a video about how you ensure your collection, how you keep everything clean, maintenance etc... like do you have uv blocking windows in your home...stuff like that.
Sold on this will be picking him up at TFNation next weekend. Mindwipe was the only deception headmaster I owned grieving up so this has definitely brought nostalgia back. Good review as always Mr Skullface sir. Would be great if you could have it over to TFNation in the UK one year
Awesome review fellow collector. The Producers Producer strikes again and its nice to see Fans Toys get back to the basics. Simplicity is a thing of beauty!
I'm not crazy about the bat mode but that robot mode is gorgeous! The articulation is almost perfect though I would've liked to see an ab crunch. Still looks like a top notch release.
I was one of the first people with Dracula (I live in the same city as The Chosen Prime who had him in stock first, I love local pick up) and came very close to reporting that the arms didn't lock in in alt mode, but happened to choose to transform him back to bot mode first and found the tabs as I was going back. I got lucky I didn't put that bit of false info out there.
Despite his name, it's great to see this FT release doesn't suck ... or bite. lol. I'm not really into Headmasters, but for some reason, I really like this one. You can say that I'm kind of batty over it! Nice review Mr. Skullface. Although you did miss a great opportunity to do this review with a Bloody Mary. J/K ;)
Got him in the other day, and was blown away by him. Solid, heavy figure. FT knocked this one out of the park for sure! Kind of funny though..a figure with too much articulation. Who knew?? Agreed though, if they had made the FEET on the bat a little different he would have been much more stable. I can forgive that as he'll be displayed on his stand. Great review Mr. S! Have a great weekend!
This dude looks awesome, so excited for the skullcruncher too. I think ill wait for a bit of a price drop, maybe find one on eBay for 80 or 90 shipped in a few weeks
Gotta say, this is pretty good. I give Fanstoys a lot of crap. I do, now, own one of their figures and may be picking up a second when (if - lol) their Warpath comes out. They're good but not far ahead of other 3Ps as one would expect from their much-vaunted reputation (full disclosure, though, I have Spindrift which is not considered their best). My main criticisms of Fanstoys have tended to be that they can only do simple, G1 remake transformations; that they try to muscle in on other 3Ps sales; and that they aren't good at delivering. This product answers all three of those criticisms. His transformation is interesting enough (although, if I were to be super picky, the number of flip out clips doesn't look fun and the 180 rotation above the knee is a bit gratuitous); they've stuck to the Decepticon headmasters and respected Maketoys' turf regarding Autobot headmasters; and they've delivered when, given Weirdwolf was less well received, it would've been easy for them to give up. Well done fanstoys.
Are you getting every masterpiece figure from g1 (this includes transformers like topspin and twin twist who only appeared as toys) or the ones that only appear in the show?
In case you haven't heard they announced a month or so ago that they are going to redesign him so it won't be soon. They didn't get into any detail about it though.
You were overthinking the arm transformation. Flip out the butterfly joint then rotate the whole thing where it connects to the torso 180 degrees and it is done. Any other movement is just to get clearance. I was surprised when you mentioned rotating at the bicep for it. One thing I've told people, if the bat feet on his butt bother them at least they are easy to pop off with the ball joints.
Awesome review and it's always fun to see your reviews and try and catch something I may have missed. I indeed did miss a couple things. It's funny, you said thigh swivel for the bicep and I think I said bicep swivel for the thigh. This is why you're the king man, excellent review and good job on the transformation, I just can't do them anymore. I always enjoy a good "Coming To America" reference. Thank you for taking the time to make and share such a fantastic video!
Great review man. I recieved this guy a few days ago & damn I was impressed. He's my first masterpiece headmaster & if FT does this good a job on Skullcruncher I'm sold!
It's a very good TF, rectify those ankles in Bat mode, give him an ab-crunch, a bit more range in the wrists and a better overall Headmaster it would be a perfect TF. Fans Toys should have done this with the FT-18 Lupus, if we get an FT-26 as good as this one we can have a very nice set of Headmasters combining into "Trio Formation". HELP ME OUT BOBBY SKULLFACE PLEASE!!! To your knowledge are there Fans Toys KO or third party companies KO in general? I want to buy some of the older third party TF on eBay and I can't get a strait answer from the sellers, they all say it's a Chinese version but all third party companies are Chinese versions. Nice review as usual, thank you. P.S. I got mine today and I love it even more, it's also my first time holding a Fans Toys Transformer and it's a Masterpiece there isn't a single doubt about it. FT FTW!!!
Place the chicken wings into a 1-gallon Ziploc bag and cover them with black hot sauce. Seal, and toss the chicken in the marinade until thoroughly covered. Place the bag in the refrigerator and flip it every 30 minutes for 3 hours.
Looks cool... hmm maybe, this entices me to get some late series figs not a big fan of those season or the Head Masters which I thought were dumb but robot mode looks cool.
Damnit he corrected it.! *For those wondering what's going on Bubbeh originally had "Mindwipe" as "Midwipe" which was a simple but funny mistake. www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=midwipe
Hey nice review Bobby two things 1 it seems that fan toys is starting to listen to you I think they're fan of yours because a lot of the stuff that's showing up in this and things you actually make comments about in previous videos and 2 is something missing from the top of mindwipe's head it looks like it's missing a piece or something
His intelligence is kinda low, I guess you could say he is......too Dracul for school? (slowly slurps his coffee) Sorry had to do it. I am happy to see his forward butterfly joints for the shoulders so he can do that semi praying stance for his mind attack from the cartoon. It is a shame there is no accessory for that though.
Cameron Moriarty actually I have no idea, it’s probably not just like yours. I have him on the flight stand and using it as his tail. I’m assuming mines not strong enough to help hold him up as well.
look at fanstoys doing small steps in the articulation department, maybe in 2028 they will do a bot with an ab-crunch(thats,IF....they can do a waist swivel first, lol) on the figure itself, it looks terrible but thats not fanstoys fault(really now, how can you make a bat-bot look that bad) but it seems well-built, i just hoped this quality was on a better looking figure(cough cough* arcee) instead of this hideous thing
just below the hips. It takes advantage of the hips and thighs having distinct shapes and rotates where they meet. There is also a mid-thigh rotation for transformation you can unlock if you actually have a use for dual thigh rotation. Plus the rotation point just below the knee for 3 rotation points (though I can't imagine a use for that maybe you are more creative than I am)
I just remembered from the video, did you mean his mistakenly calling the bicep the thigh swivel? I don't want to just delete my first reply in case it was a real question.
Bubbeh... What exactly is a Midwipe?? Is that like when you're too drunk and have to go #2 and only wipe mid way?? Lol I'm jk. Gr8 review but let's hope FT Cyclonus will be like Midwipe.
Sera acaso que se refiere a que no es show accurate de la caricatura japonesa? Al menos a mi parecer es altamente parecido a los episodios de the rebirth!
Ed Vel I don't understand what exactly your response says but yes, the Japanese headmasters show is infinitely then rebirth "season" and if toys meant to represent these characters shouldn't prioritize rebirth. he only design from rebirth i like better is cerebros head, because the head wrapping ridge is unique, but just having a copy of fortress Maximus head isn't a deal breaker and I'm in the minority on this. Also the headmasters dub is one of the most terrible yet hilarious dubs of all time "Chromedome go to hell!" "No way!" "That's a good idear."
You fool! How could you have so foolishly overlooked the foul folly fanstoys has furnished with this figure. Are you blind? can you not see that fanstoys has now stooped so low as to give us a repaint, or at best a retool, of their Swoop? Did you say you were missing Skullcruncher? Maybe I should just break the horns and frill off of fans toys Slag, paint him green and red and send him to you for another "strong recommend!" Lol. Okay but seriously, the arms in alt mode look ridiculous. I'm annoyed that I have to buy this for the sake of completion but I'm glad at least you say that it feels great in hand.
