Growing up in a Mennonite Church - we sang these words to this hymn tune. So very fitting in light of the virus situation facing the world today: Thank you for sharing your beautiful music with us. May you be richly blessed! Comfort, comfort O my people Speak of peace, now says our God. Comfort those who sit in darkness mourning neath their sorrows' load. Speak unto Jerusalem of the peace that waits for them. Tell of all the sins I cover and that warfare now is over.

Fern, I was an organist in an Episcopal church for years. We also sang Comfort, comfort O my people to this tune. Gert's selection of this tune really touched me as well given the scary times the world is in right now. We all need some comfort to get us through it. Growing up in a reformed church, We have sang this melody since I was a kid . It’s been one of my favourites. As far as I know it was composed for psalm42.

Such a beautiful and peaceful piece of music. I love Mulder's compositions anyway, but this is particularly special. Gert as always really shows his understanding of his repertoire.

One of the reasons I enjoy listening to your performances so much is your brilliant choices of registration. There are a lot of stops to choose from and you always seem to pick the best, which results in delightful contrasts of tones, and happy anticipation of what beautiful sound you are going to give us next. concur. But sometimes I wish that Gert would take some 'liberties' with registration while playing Bach's organ pieces. In school, we were never allowed to change any stops during the performance, lest we be looked upon as "inauthentic Bach" players. @@ *

Hi Gert, Someone gave me your name, and I listened to Psalm 42 , also I heard you play the Cantate and Fugue in D , so I looked and listened at more music played by you . I listened to your story, You sure are a gifted man, I so wish you were in Brisbane, Australia as I am fond of organ music, which no longer seems to be the norm in a church, I dislike a drum in the church I wish you lots of success and happiness, I am Dutch of origin, born in Naarden

This is a truly beautiful melody, which is why it's the most uploaded psalm on YT, by many organists. Lovely playing Gert, Klaas Jan Mulder's arrangement is still the gold standard. Let's hope the internet can carry the extra load in the coming months.

Thank you Gert for bringing us the gorgeous and interesting array of voices contained in this historic and well-maintained instrument. While I am not able to assign the names of the stops you used, nor whether the choices were speaking from wood or metal pipes, their indivudual sounds indicate the builder was a master at his trade! I like that the tremolo wasn't over bearing. It wasn't too heavy or too fast. I appreciate your masterful artistry as well as the repertoire you present. Bravo!

Beautiful piece of music on the organ Gert, especially with the use of the tremulant that intercepts the wind supply so that you get puffs of wind instead of a steady stream as it goes into the pipes and the Vox Celeste stop. The Vox Celeste stop is tuned slightly sharp or flat to the other stops to create a vibrato effect.

From a fan in Canada. Thank-you. Wonderful teamwork between you and Marjolein as always! As someone who has played church music for many years I find your playing truly inspiring. This seems to be a beautiful new instrument. In this regard there is a similar brand new Van den Heuvel organ installed in the Bethelkerk Lunteren. We have friends here that came from that church. Would love hear you record something on that organ sometime!
