I love how Ezra looks at every interviewers so passionately and listens so carefully to them, he's such a fanboy and you can literally see he's so glad and honored to be here, he's just one of us tbh.
Embarrassing? This is JK Rowling we are talking about. She practically inspired an entire generation to read books. How many people have ever done that? Rest are just actors, they will fade away but the books tend to live on forever.
It's nice to see Eddie being legit excited about Newt/Potter world in general and how passionate he is in that role. He is the perfect Newt, so adorable on and off camera lol
I'm glad Rowling mentioned how dark her previous drafts were because I was surprised by the dark tone of the film. I got the impression that she had to edit her own work because there are tonal shifts in the film between lighthearted humour and darkness and violence. For the diehard fans still skeptical about watching it, I'll say this: This is not about 7 years at a magical school, it's about real life during a time of war. Brush up on your World War I + II histories/films and this film will make sense.
eerienightowl I didn't mind because some plot points in the Harry Potter novels got progressively darker and were usually not kept in the films. I hope these tone problems are fixed by the sequel in 2018...
+Tafami wait, how does ww2 come into this? Anyway, I really loved the tone of the movie and I agree with what you wrote. I didn't really feel any harry potter vibe while watching this movie and I have to say I'm kinda glad about that. It really felt like it's own thing ( in the harry potter universe obviously) and I'm really looking forward to more movies of this franchise. Beautiful music as well! Really felt like a lot of love and hard work went into the making of this.
nobody interesting ikr! she ruined it. like trump is not important to the Wizarding world. is like mentioning voldemort name in the potter film. he who should not be named.
Jisk van der Veen On twitter yes, but this is an interview about Fantastic Beasts. In my opinion they should stick to the topic, I do see where this person was coming from with asking the question, seeing as she might not get the opportunity to do so again, but it was still highly inappropriate.
Queenie reminded my of Luna Lovegood on some way.. BTW the movie was amazing!!! I loved it so much and I am so glad for the new wave of the Wizarding World
I personally love Eddie Redmayne's work and find him a very dynamic character actor. The highest praise for him that I can think of is that he reminds me of a young Gary Oldman. I think these new stories/films are in the very best hands!
The question to Jo about Trump was ridiculous. It had nothing to do with the movie and the asker actually had the nerve to make a pathetic attempt to relate it to Fantastic Beasts. Bless Jo for answering so respectfully and calmly because that person did not deserve it.
The film has social and political themes put at the forefront, so how do you think it's "irrelevant"? The film is about repression, discrimination, and fascism.
@@decrox13 if you think that has any correlation to a very middling Presidency then you’re ideologically consumed and overdramatising a very zeitgeisty thing purely cause it’s currently socially rewarding to do so.
I'm so glad JK is still alive and involved with the creation of the movies, cause the sequences are really connected with all the original ideia of the magical world, and all the dots is correlated. I wish the HP universe could continue forever!
45:29 this is just one of the wonderful moments when I realise that she really does all this beacause she loves it and not beacause of the money or the fame that comes with this. And I really love that
They're reporters. Its more a press junket than like a comic con fan panel for example. Unfortunately that's just the case when it comes to JK Rowling.
from what I have seen so far, the people at the press conference don't seem enthusiastic. if I were there and they announced J. K. Rowling I would probably start to cry tears of happiness, or just die of shock.
It is the press, sure, but c'mon, people, IT"S J.K. ROWLING!!!! And there were people from MuggleNet and LeakyCauldron who are most certainly among the biggest HP geeks on the planet. I would have been cheering very enthusiastically for her! LOL
Thank you very much for posting this. Your access to panels, interviews and behind the scenes of film making is a gift only a few have been able to share, and you share this gift very well with us. Great job! Keep up the fantastic work.
Curtis Davenport my piece of advice is, don't want to be a professional writer, want to write what you want to write, and if it is good(it probably will be) then a more official status will come with publicity and popularity
is anyone else still in shock that this is all happening? We're ACTUALLY getting another 4 movies from the potterverse. At the last movie premiere, I was so sad and sure it was all over- and here we are. I'm still pinching myself💚 I've seen the movie three times and I'm intending on going again this Thursday! Love it ALMOST as much as the Potters💚
exactly! so great that we can all talk about it too, my friends are sick to death of me talking about Harry Potter! So... who's everyone's favourite character in beasts 😜
30:05 ...hahaha watch Katherines reaction when trump is mentioned..also leave it to a Reuters reporter to ruin the mood of the room..luckily jk totally ignored the main question.
I was your age at the time you wrote this and I saw the Potter films as they came out, maybe you never knew about them or something. Hope you're enjoying these ones, cheers.
Lonia X yup, i knew NOTHING. only seen the first trailer months ago, and totaly forgot what was in the trailer. boy am i glad i didnt see the trailers.
I didn't even plan to go see the film- my mate was just like 'You wanna go see FB later' and I was just like 'Sure. Yeah.' Now I can't wait until the next one.
Saw the movie two days ago. It is truly fantastic. I didn't catch the Harry Potter train when I was younger. Now I am planning to start reading the series as a grown-up. Good job. I can't want for a movie sequel.
EllaChina Even as an adult, those books are strikingly deep, and well done. I absolutely love them. I didn't read them until I was 15, and it was the perfect time to read them. I hope you enjoy them. My favorite book is book 6, for the record.
every actor reminds of their characters in their personalities, except Ezra... which honestly, makes complete sense, Credence was not your average person, he was damaged and abused, and Ezra played that perfectly, although i do see a bit of Credence in him, he certainly does not have the shy and constricted demeanor of Credence.
not a bad thing! i personally love this, it makes Credence feel more... i don't know, individual, i more see the character in the skin of the actor when i watch that movie, rather than ezra just playing as him. obviously Ezra is an amazing actor though, especially with Credence... might seem like i'm trying to say otherwise.
I saw the movie yesterday and I loved it. So beautiful and touching. Flawless. I was born in 1988 and I was so happy this film came out so good. Loved it.
I got into the Potterverse a bit late; I started reading the books about 3 years ago, but I love it so so much! And when Fantastic Beasts came out, I was immediately enthralled and intrigued. I love Newt's character so much, and on some levels, I connect with him. So these new things that are coming from Jo herself, it just makes me feel so warm and fuzzy.
I saw FBAWTFT here in Adelaide yesterday upon opening here and I really enjoyed Katherine Waterston and Alison Sudol 's performance . Very engaging .Very convincing . Look out for the surprise in it
I WAS SOOOOO PROUD AND HAPPY WHEN EZRA WAS IN IT LIKE I WATCHED IT TODAY AND I WAS LIKE "Wait holy shit ..is that Ezra...Oml it is .wait YEHH BOIII" :') I swear i was happy
Don't read if u don't want spoilers Newt actually got thrown out of Hogwarts because One of Leta Lestrange's beasts got out of control and injured someone, in third year, Newt didn't want her to get expelled so took the blame. That's why she is a taker and not a giver. This left Newt heartbroken but still very much in love. Also the next movie takes place in Paris, France and Britain and Leta will be in it. And finally (this is not unknown) if you read the fantastic beast book about the author u will see that Porpetina marries Newt and their grandson Rolph ends up marrying Luna Lovegood
I saw it 6 pm, but Sweden have a record of, strangely enough, having it's premieres earlier than Britain or USA. Not that I complain over it. I was so happy that I could go before the internet spoiled it. Loved the movie, it was so amazing
So I absolutely LOVE Fantastic Beasts and I'm excited for the next 2 movies. But I'm also wondering if she will write a screenplay for Quidditch Through the Ages or any of the other small books.
Had a total blast on set of fantastic Beasts . JK was a joy to meet on set in Liverpool .And the Premiere was a top night ,Everyone was so friendly . For me a Chance of a lifetime from being a potter fan that managed to get in the film anything is possible..., Looking forward to the next one .
I''ve been in love with Allison haha, she is so beautiful and her voice is so gentle. I'm not the only one who thinks so. Also, please have David Yates direct all five films, he is the best!
I wonder if JK knows the hamilton song "Non-stop" the refrain fits her so well. How do you write like you're running out of time? Write day and night like you're running out of time? Every day you fight like you're running out of time Like you're running out of time Are you running out of time? How do you write like tomorrow won't arrive? How do you write like you need it to survive? How do you write every second you're alive? Every second you're alive Every second you're alive?
Haha, I wouldn't want a niffler though. It would probably keep running off and steal peoples shiny things, including my own. With that being said, it IS freaking adorable! ^^
Such a privilege for myself to be part of such an Iconic Movie, I was thrilled to be at The Premiere In Liverpool for Supporting Artists Amazing, Go Watch It!
I love when David Heyman said that this film could stand on its own and you could relate to it even though you haven't been briefed to the Potter Universe (though obviously, it is a HUGE part of it) because I myself know next to nothing about it. *please do not throw any tomatoes at me*. I mean, I have watched the 8 movies recently and I am planning to read the books that changed the entire world. (Actually, I felt kind of guilty while watching the movies... maybe because the fans waited those for years and here I am just finishing it with one go. I felt like I was committing a crime. XD). And then I got to watch Fantastic Beast. And then I got to attached to the characters (mainly with Newt). And then I became intrigued with the storyline. And it just amazes me how that film affected me even though I'm not a Potterhead... I think I just fell in love with it even without the Potter references. *please don't throw rocks at me*. Well, the point is I like how they're embracing the fact that it can be told outside (and at the same time alongside) the original universe. And I really hope that I'm not the only one appreciating this that's outside of the fandom...
ey dear Anna, nobody is going to throw rocks or tomatoes as you wrote (i hope nobody here do that!) because i want to believe is a very inclussive comunitie and always happy new people enter in this amazing j.k.r world through all the books and stories, not only h.p and f.b, but also the exttra texts written only by fans and through her answers compiled.... im a fan since my 11 years old and i didnt know the books, i only saw the movies at the beggining till i found finally a way to get the books and devorated them , also waiting for the lasts and yes...is a beautifull way to approach but in southamerica economy was not easy to get those books, till they go into library,... so i read them in tghat, almost watching my self as a hermione :) hope you find happy here and i would love to know english forums to be more connected this days (im 33 an is not easy to have free time) so, thanks for pointing that to me....
25:32 that is very much true, i can confirm this, i have never been a harry potter fan... my sister was when she was younger, but i was too young to remember most of it, but yet... i feel completely in love with this story, it's almost like a gateway for non harry potter fans to be involved even after having so much of the lore of the original harry potter books and movies spoiled for them, i am very much grateful of this beautiful story and will certainly go back to see the others... this story helped me realize my biggest trait - loneliness, Credence reminds me a lot of myself, and it often takes someone else to make someone realize their traits.
A couple minutes in I was saying "why does Ezra Miller look so much like Credence" And then I remembered something. Oh. He is credence. CREDENCE IS NOT DEADDDDDDDDDDDD
I love that Katherine is wearing a fuzzy sweater! In another interview she mentioned that she likes wearing such fabrics so people can pet/rub them. Such a sweetheart!
I really hope that Eddie will play in all parts of Fantastic Beasts as Newt, because he is just perfect for him and he knows his character so well. I could write here so many things, but it would be so long and not very much people will read it so.. And I hope we will see more of Newt in them.
I'm so excited for the Grindelwald and Dumbledore backstory, I've been interested in this side story since DH came out in 2007 and can't believe it's finally happening ahh...:D
LoL I love how she fumbles over the chair, it's so her, and so endearing! So sad not a single mind up there is as intelligent and nuanced as hers though, disappointed by Eddy for not actually reading her tweets. Politics can really ruin things.
These questions kinda sucked. There was so much potential and they asked questions 12 year olds would ask. You have so many characters to ask about their experiences and the director of this movie and other HP movies! Yes JK was there but so were the people actually in the movie. Jeez I'm so disappointed. Thanks goodness there were a few answers that were broad enough to get past the questions and help us learn more about the behind the scenes
I was a bit disappointed with the quality of the questions, too. And when it started with 3 or 4 in a row for JKR, I was like c'mon... let's talk about Fantastic Beasts! All the main actors are right there!
They actually asked very mature and perceptive questions. I bet you're one of those Harry Potter fans that don't think the series means anything and wants them to ask constant questions about stupid creatures and Hogwarts houses. 12 year old questions
