@@RickInMaryland They get a paycheck and 3 square a day. They walk into their jobs eyes wide open, just like firefighters and cops. Comic shops exist in a highly competitive entertainment & leisure industry, constantly squeezed by all levels of government, and now getting stiffed by their suppliers, and, increasingly, their own customers.
Best wishes for Fantastic comics and a big hug from Mexico, the retailers are the True Heroes, Keep strong in this hard times! Respect! Awesome vid as usual Wes!!
Love the Sandlot intro. Outside of that, I'm just bummed to hear Uel's troubles. Hes always such a great guy on your show so it sucks to hear all this. I hope his shipment woes end soon.
What a great positive discussion on comics! That last broadcast with that grouchy bad mouthed dude was a downer. I wouldn't hit up his store. This guy's store for sure if I could. WHERE?! Keep these type interviews going!
We’ve had problems with UCS. I mean, Diamond is bad, too, especially in that they’re now refusing to take calls, allowing contact via email only. But UCS is just as bad - we’re missing a ton of books we ordered from them and all we get from their CS is, “It’s all explained in the email you were sent,” except we never got any such email. What books we have received a definitely not packed as well as other claim - just tossed in a box the same as Diamond.
