check this before you change out or worry about it being actually broken. It should fix the problem. dn t replace if you don't have to and don't cut wiring to check it. hope this helps!
Thank you Thank you,,,, I was able to reach that plunger after I took the inside screen off, stuck my fingers up though the fan and worked it up and down a few times, then the fan started to turn,,,will get on the roof on a lot cooler day and spray some dry silicone on it.
Found that fuse had fallen out of fuse holder on ceiling fan. Now I can’t get the fuse to stay in the fuse holder. Had to duck tape to hold it in place. Any suggestions.
@tumalo710 if the cap has both tabs that secure it, see if something is obstructing the base securing area. Sometime those cap retaining tabs break off, they are pretty light Duty, I believe the fuse holder can be replaced after market, although it would be more intensive to replace that.
When I turn on my fan the lift motor spins but does not open the cover. It wont open when I manually turn it either. Do you think the lift motor is broken?
@Kendubious so that would depend. I have one, that lifts by the sensor. The other is completely manual. I've seen this a few times in super duty areas where the lift motor can also get so dirty it won't work. I'd try to remove rhw screen, the know and see if something is causing it to not work, because the manual crank should always work even if the lift/electric is bad. Sounds like something is hung up.
@@automotiveinquiries9673 I pulled the lift arm out cranked it with my fingers and it worked. Put it back in and now it is working. I have no idea why. I will probably replace the dome lift arm in the future. thanks for the reply.
Saw your video and fixed my fan in 5 minutes. Great tip. Spent two hours checking power, cleaning fan and connections etc before finding your video over lunch.
@elwoodanderson4149 it worked on mine and all the ones I've done. Sorry you didn't see this run, but it did. I've had tons of great feedback that this worked for other. Most believe it's a replacement, so this is worth a shot.
