To be fair, the movie was barely advertised, and didn't get much traction from the audience, and aside from a small community on VKontakte, plus a few English-speaking people, nobody really cared about it. I do recommend that you watch the English dub, because it's genuinely funnier, than the original.

I find it odd that it hasnt seen a full us release yet as the snow queen films that keep getting cranked out are also distributed from russia and you can sometimes find em in dvd bargain bins, and atleast the last time i checked still can rent them

First off, I am a big fan of the Snow Queen Franchise. Second it took an arm and a leg plus 2 YEARS before we actually got to see it (legally). I purchased ALL of Wizart’s films in HD via Apple TV. (That includes Sheep and Wolves 1 and 2.) Snow Queen 4 has not made it out here yet either.... though unmentioned means I have managed to see it, and will declare it to be my favorite of the series. (Hurry up, Wizart, I want to share these films with people I encounter. I see that IMDB has a US showing slated for theaters this June.... please keep it so.... ticket is purchased (figuratively)). Also, maybe a teaser trailer for Hansel and Gretel??

Russian cartoons are all different, unlike American. Plus, it's from the original Wizard of Oz books that Americans don't know about. I read them when I was a child

Dilip Khednah um.... 1985, great Scott! I take it that you haven’t seen the first film? (2017) Fantastic Journey to OZ? They JUST released it on Amazon Prime.... I’m kinda hoping tor an Apple TV release too. I was never a Wizard of OZ fan, but that movie won me over. Fantastic Journey is a classic in my opinion. I can’t say that I expect the same of this sequel. Come out and impress me Melnitsa!

@@uAlienatedIllusion fantastic journey however is not adapted from baums oz, neither is this, these are both adaptaped from the works of alexander volkov, the magic land series which is more than just a blatant rip of the fabulous 14 Return to oz at least has passaged ripped scene for scene from baums books

Because she’s known to the rest of the world as Dorothy. Why on earth would any movie producer or executive with half a brain try to sell a movie set in the Wizard of Oz universe with a central character, who is blatantly Dorothy but not call her Dorothy. It would be a disaster.

Return to Oz is an incredible movie but it’s set in a post apocalyptic Oz. The country would be bright and glorious if it wasn’t for the fact it was desecrated by the Nome King. To compare the two is foolhardy
