I prefer the notes being on items. 1) if you already read a note, there's no point finding it again, you read it. An item you can use. 2) it gives you a reason to explore the whole world instead of going straight to a boss. There's some good loot over thataway in the opposite direction, and oh look it's loot and lore at the same time.
@@RyanPetersonReacts And the Item often gives contest to the description, like a sword you see used on a particular enemy + the information written, that makes you do a step beyond the mere understanding of the info, you can relate the object to the contest written
“I wish they had those notes in elden ring” they kinda do, if youve ever been to one one those sword monuments, they gives little bits of lore in the same way the notes do.
Also, there's the white messages on the ground. It's not all other players. In some pretty obviously important areas, if you look around, there's literally messages in the vein of journal entries that can be read.
35:21 god that voice acting is fuckinf heartbreaking. Ive been in that emotional state before due to my mental issues and that voice tragically portrays fhat pure helplessness. Just wanting someone to come save him from a nightmare he couldnt possibly have understood before taking the job. Very mich echoes how helpless me and many others with similae issues feel in today's world. Obviously we dont have eldritch influences running about but wgen todays works, especially for young adults, is crushing and offers little in way of assistance. Basically its goal is to traumatize people into being able to function. But for a lot of us, that trauma didnt make us able to function, it made it harder. And the feeling of helplessness from being in a world like that is rivaled by very few things, a infinite eldritch nightmare being on of them
I'll disagree with the combat, Bloodborne is the PEAK of soulsborne controls. Super fluid trick weapons rather than clunkly weapon arts, lightning fast dodges and much more aggressive. Elden Ring is great for options and variety but it doesn't hold a candle to BB in combat. The only real issue BB has is 29fps :(
@@zaynthemane Because there's a frame timing problem with the game that makes it actually worse than your average 30fps title, believe it or not. It's why so many people want some kind of fps buff. Even unlocked 40ish would be a boon to gameplay.
@@Shlankyman545 for a game like Bloodborne game feel is a very important part of what makes it good or bad. A big part of the enjoyment comes from the fluid and frenetic combat. Low FPS can have a pretty severe impact on game feel, especially when you start dropping below 45 or 50
It should be the opposite: saw teeth get caught on fleshy sinew but are ideal for bone while a cleaver cuts cleanly through flesh but has to chip away like an axe or machete through bone and will get dull quickly.
One of the best things about Bloodborne is that it's genuinely up for debate which endings are "good" and "bad", or if that's even a valid way of judging them. Imagine the dreams of Bloodborne like The Matrix, and you have the choice between starting a war between humans and bots (Great Ones) where countless people will die, but if you win, you can live in the real world, which may be destroyed, but it's real. Or you can choose to go back to sleep and live in a dream world that as far as we can tell, is returned to normal. It's manufactured, but you and the rest of the world will never know, and even though the Great Ones still exist, they will leave you alone. And as Morpheus says, what is real? If your brain tells you it's real, then isn't it? There's a genuine argument that either of those endings could be the "good" ending.
The argument thats valid is that the true ending being you absorb the pieces and have that last piece then defeat the moon presence, its weird to me that when you beat the presence it states nightmare slain... when the doll picks up the chosen one she said "oh, good hunter" contextually meaning she knew this was the case of the reality the "dream" was. I feel there is supposed to be a sequal of some sort that will laminate the idealism of bloodborne due to the ending of the cutscene the sky was clearing up and the hunter walks away like nothing happened... towards the burning building? He was going towards stairs so what else was there to see... you also absorb more than 2 pieces of the chosen one so you would end up becoming one right?
I see why you wouldn't like elden ring if you don't like the gameplay. I love trying to piece together souls like stories but if you don't like the actual gameplay in between these chunks of lore then you don't have the glue to hold the experience together. I love not understanding exactly what's happening and trying to piece it together. It's very similar to games like kings field and lunacid actually
Bloodborne is a total reversal of thematic concepts and a reversal of the heroes journey. The ending is the best way to show the first part. The first ending where you wake up knowing nothing after gherman kills you is the good ending but also the worst as you have lost all the knowledge you gained in the hunt. The third ending is the bad ending but also the best as you have transcended your human vessel and became an old one. The second is the only ending that could be considered truly the worst ending as you are turned into a puppet for the moon presence in order to continue the hunt.
Bloodborne's story is one of the most in depth, and in front of your face, stories among the Fromsoft titles. Even despite how hidden the lore still is, and thats saying something. Because almost everything we know of the story is true and not simple speculation. It's also one of the most darkest and mind boggling stories with its association with eldritch horrors and moral dilemmas. The philosophies and values that the story explores are very open ended as well, but I always liked the idea that Bloodborne explored the idea of the Paleblood being attuned with the Übermensch, where a human does not rely on faith or knowledge to live life, and as such one rises above humanity as they venture beyond the unknown.
03:47 Ebrietas, Daughter of Cosmos. Optional BOSS in Secret Area. And a Great one. 05:04 That Old guy on the Chair, is NO BOSS. Just NPC. And Part of the LORE. 09:25 That Enemy is Brainsucker. Annoying Hated Enemy. The City of Yharnam. 17:24 Micolash Host of the Nightmare. He is in the Tier Lists and in BOSS Ranking Videos, with the WORST BOSSES. Bloodborne has Trick Weapons, and Fire Arm. There is a Shield, But Nore Like Accesoary, then for Defence. So the Shield was Removed, Switched with More Aggressive Way of Fighting. Small Axe that can Turn into Long Axe, Regular Sword that can become Big Hammer, or Great Sword. Cane that can be Whip, Saw that has It's own Trick. I'm NOT Saying, that the Guns Don't do Damage. BUT They are Very Good for Parry and then The Magical Move Called Visseral Attack. Also you can Farm Silver Bullets. And Blood Too. Technically you use The Blood as Healing Flask. And There are Lanterns that Work Like Bonfire From Dark Souls, OR Grace From Elden Ring. (Or Idle from Sekiro). 06:08 That Sword... The Smaller Blade is the Regular Normal Blade. The BIG Great Sword Blade is the Special one. For the Bigger Damage Attacls. 28:11 Rom, the Vacuous Spider. Great one. And a BOSS. You can Fight the Little Spiders IF you want. Personal Choise. They are Just On the way. You can Kill them If you Feel them Problamatic. OR you can Concentrate on the Actual BOSS, and End the BOSS Fight Quicker. Ether you Kill the Spiders IF you Don't want too Many of them, OR you Kill the BIG Spider, and the Rest are gone. 30:05 Amygdala. Another Great one. I know, Great ones Not Appealing with Attractive Looks. Mergo and the BOSS Mergo's Wet Nerse are Both Great ones. 32:30 BOSS Fight. Mensis is also a Great one. But NOT BOSS. Just NPC. That Doesn't Talk. The Moon Presence is a Great one, and Also a BOSS (Basically Secret True FINAL BOSS). And also a Master Mind. Usually FromSoftware Games are with NO Good Endings. There are Cool Ending, Scary Ending, Creepy Ending Secret Ending, ETC. But NO GOOD Ending. IF you Choose German to Kill you and to Wake up in the Real World... You have NO Memory of your Adventure, that you Passed through. And you are Pretty Much Vunerable to Die. If you Kill German, you Ether Replace his Fate on that Chair, OR you Fight the Moom Presence. Elden Ring... You can Planty of RU-vid Channels that can Tell you this and that. Bloodborne has Dreams and Nightmares. The Hunter's Work Shop (Your Hub area), (The Hunter's Dream). The Nightmare of Minsis, The Hunder's Nightmare, the Nightmare Fromtier. Hunter's Nightmare is at some Point Basically Valhalla for the Hunters. But With Little of HELL as a Part of It. Some Offers are you Have to be Aggressive and First, BUT NOT Greedy!!! And IF you Have Problems with some Enemies (Like Bigger Enemies)... Backstab. Or The Viseral Attack, Which you Start with Pistop Parry. In Order to be Effective, you Need to Practice It's Timing.
"They should do more like this" he says about one of the most annoying bossfights that from soft ever made and that everyone cheeses to the point that from soft left his AI bug un patched so that players could continue the cheese for an easy skip. 😂😂😂
If you like longer texts of lore, you'd really appreciate Blasphemous. Good video btw! Bloodborne is one of the greatest games ever made. A true masterpiece. And the story/lore is really deep. I love it so much!
@@seeker_rodan3113 cool! They're definitely really good games! I was never thought I was into Metroidvania games, but then I picked up Blasphemous anyway and quickly started loving it.
@@seeker_rodan3113 yes, I've started picking that up as well! I have yet to continue however, due to the Elden Ring DLC being out, but I will get to it, lmao
lol. "fantasy author" You're not actually an author unless you're published. Right now you're just a writer. "historian" You're not actually a historian unless you do it as an occupation - a degree in history in itself doesn't mean anything. If you're gonna clickbait titles can you at least try to be honest? Or maybe you're a college graduate that doesn't even know the difference which is even worse.
@@RyanPetersonReacts nothing will top the embarrassment you display on every video by trying to make yourself something you're not. But hey, keep deluding yourself. I'm sure your 5th attempt at getting published will work lol...
I'll explain since you don't comprehend anything. You're going for the literal definition of your titles whereas I'm going for the occupational angle. By your low standards I can go write a page of my own fantasy novel and call myself a "fantasy author". Gimme a break.
According to his logic, I can take a cooking class and therefore be considered a chef. Don’t waste on your time on him tho. The loser ain’t gonna change his bs.
