Thanx for that. I totally agree. Jason is actually my uncle haha. i only just saw this vid...it came out when i was really little. I don't find it particularly funny...
So Baddiel can black up and mock Lee's Rastafarian heritage, which lead him to receive years of abuse? Then he claims Spurs fans are racist because along with thousands of our Jewish brothers we sing a word which in Yiddish means 'friend', 'buddy', 'mate'. His real problem is he is ashamed to be a Chelsea fan due to the disgusting anti-semetic chants they sing to us, and he's trying to shift all the focus on Spurs. Disgusting man.
@Doc Astrov How is the song racist? It was a joke about a popular hairstyle of that time. Admittedly it was a popular style among the black community but quite a few white people wore it too. I don't think there was ever any racial intent behind that song but people get very 'itchy triggered' when it comes to pulling the race card.
Actually embarrassing how basic the humour was. I don’t doubt they are poking fun at themselves aswell but it does highlight how far we have come and still have to go.
To those calling this racis, would you say that if they took the p!ss out of a wight player's haircut? If not, you're the racis (spellings changed to avoid unelected corporate censorship)
@C Brown The song itself isn't racist or at least certainly not intended as such. It depends if you think 'blacking up' to play the part of someone who is black is racist. As a kid growing up with The Black & White minstrel show and Golliwogs on jam I understand why many might find it offensive but it was definitely unintentional.
Get a grip, fucking helmet. They're taking the piss out of his hair and shit finishing, not his skin colour ffs. He's, dark skinned, that's why Baddiel coloured his face. Jesus, you don't get white people crying when people mock their hair.
