I’ve started fantasy map drawing from like 3 weeks ago and I found your channel from 4 days and it’s so good and I’m so confused why your channel doesn’t have I lot of support and subscribers you deserve more than that(keep up the good work 👍🏻♥️)
I’m so glad you found me and are coming along for the ride! Things can only grow by one person at a time, so I really appreciate your support. Let me know if you want to see anything!
This is really amazing! I've found your videos recently and It's actually inspired me to start drawing my own maps! Started my first one today using your techniques.
Thank you so much! I usually just try to erase all the pencil lines at the end, in one go. I use a very soft eraser but the more you use it, the more the ink fades. There’s a link in the description to the eraser I use, I love it!
Your map is amazing Owen, but if you color the map, l think it will be better. I also like to have adventures in your map. You can create a new game wih this map based on ludo rules.
Love your videos! You're probably my favorite fantasy cartographer on RU-vid that I've discovered so far--I think I just resonate with your style more than anyone else's, and your tutorials and demos are quick, easy to follow, and aesthetically cool! I'm curious about how you might draw a map of a large plains area--something like the African savannah, or American Great Plains. So often fantasy maps include mountains, forests, and other bespoke physical features, but I've been trying to think of my own approach to more sparsely populated regions. I'd love to see what you come up with. Similarly, 'd be interested to see how you would draw an arctic "frozen wastes" region, like Antarctica or Greenland or a large desert like the Sahara. I imagine hills, mountains, and cliffs apply in these kinds of places, but I'm curious about the wide-open areas of the world that people just tend to /not/ draw. Hope that makes sense. Thanks again! 🙂
Wow thanks Aron, I really appreciate the comment. I'm going to have to think on those regions as for one, ice is very hard to represent without using colours. If I could draw a few lions roaming around, maybe that might work for a savannah... shame I'm crap at drawing :)
As a geek who loves maps, this channel is gold 👌 I'm trying to draw some maps myself, and these videos are very useful, I'm looking forward to seeing your next tutorials! 😊
@@MapsbyOwen Thanks for your reply! I'm drawing a fantasy world map for a tabletop rpg. It would be great if you could show different examples of how to draw icons that represent cities inside a world map, from large fortified cities, to humble towns and small villages. But all your tutorials are awesome, anything you post will be useful, I'm sure :)
Love it! Love your weekly videos on map making, keep it coming! Would love to see more on different styles for drawing town/city maps like you posted a few weeks back. Big fan!
