Holy moly this is not easy. That tool is not separating the siding at all

Can you explain more about what you mean by the term carrier? I’m reaching in and sliding and nothing is happening.

Would love to see the reverse of this, replacing with the new section. I can't believe it would be that easy. This looks doable but not yet convinced of being able to get the new one back in its place.

9 years later you have taught me something im sure my grandfather has shown me when i was too young to know i needed to care. thank you from someone who has no "adults" left to ask for help.

I discovered that our vinyl is fastened to 1x3 wood slats with roofing nails. Can’t be detached without damaging the vinyl.
