Regarding terrible pedals, I've heard that DW make sub-$200 direct drive double pedals that have a tendency to fall apart real quick. I think they're called the PDP Concept Pedal.
Thank you Samus for your energy and spontaneous comments! I love the energy between you and your wife! I am 54, have had both shoulders repaired and now a hamstring that never healed properly. After watching your videos, I want to get back into my drumming! I have been afraid to so I wouldnt fuck anything else up! Lol! Thank you!
damn. I asked for a hug too. lol. that could've been me. but seriously man I adore your videos. you got so much credibility in the metal community and yet you're so fucking funny: you're just like Abbath I hope you never run out of motivation because you just pour out a lot of great stuff. cheers my friend
I have those and they are my first double pedals. Started playing drums 5 weeks ago now and I feel like they are fine but I haven't really tried other ones do idk.
i hope you can read this someday, recently found your channel and as some comments say, you really motivate people and give them joy to them. i seem to be no different and quickly became a samus fan haha! i have been fighting very hard depression and felt very but very unmotivated to play drums although i recently got a 7 piece pearl reference kit, had some issues with the color coding and you could say that shit has been eating me aliiive!! still trying to ignore it as it is an expensive shit kit lol! anyway watching your videos made me wanna go, setup that damn kit and start rocking again! thanks for your joy, your enthusiasm and the laughs ive been receiving from your vids. keep rockin'!! thank you deeply
I have a Gibraltar pedal i just bought used in”good condition” on GC and It’s straight up garbage! The axel sags and almost collapses while kicking. The bearings are good on it though so i have no idea what to do with it. If you want it buddy it’s yours!
11:34 1. start with cheapos 2. Get nice ones later 3. Keep old cheapos for practice/trashers 4. Replace the trashers for like $60 each and keep the nice ones nice 👍
I had a pair of double bass pedals and they were $60!!!🤣🤣 it was a long time ago whenever I had them and idek if they are available but they were pretty shitty🤣I found them on Amazon. Also I don’t even think they that were brand named.
DXP double kick, back in my young days. Playing in a live shitty deathhore band. We covered Thy Art Is Murder - Whore To A Chainsaw, and the chain broke on the slave pedal. lmao now I have Pearl Demon Drives, and had them for over 10 years \m/
Ok...new to your channel so, I'll start by saying I agree wholeheartedly...SEX!...NOW.. excuse me...now on too far less trivial matters...your thoughts on Terri Bozzios' kit....the only kit I ever saw, larger than Neil Pearts. Love the channel, love the hair, and love "Oh yuuurrrrr"!!! Take care bro and keep the vids coming!!
True. You just don’t have to use every single one in your setup. There’s a guy here on RU-vid that has a 5 or 6 piece kit and he has something like 45 cymbals set up. He thinks it’s just fine.
@@EvilSewnit No it’s a guy from South America. He only has a few low quality clips of him jamming with a guitar player and some other random videos. Darrens kit looks big but this other guys kit is imbalanced with 30 crashes on a 5 piece kit. It’s ridiculous. If I can find the clip I’ll post it here.
Τhe PDP 502 double pedal. This thing sucks. Close to none pedal adjustments available. The worst thing about it, is the beaters. They really damage any drum head i ever played plus they just damaged the bass drum on my millenium ekit.
bro...how are you not to a mill yet? I'm not even a drummer and I love your content. (My brother is the drummer and insisted that Samus is the shiznitobam shiznite.) Turns out he was right. :)
I can´t believe it. My first cd was Big ones as well! a couple of years later I was introduced to metal by a friend. Congrats for tour channel bro, very funny and we learn a lot. Greetings from Costa Rica!
I own the shittiest double pedal. It's an ancient lefty Iron Cobra from 1995. The chains are rusted. The ball bearings are JB welded. One has so much loose tension in it that you have to mechanically play differently, like your limping, to make it sound in sync with the other pedal. Yes I still use it and play with it to jam. I got it new in '95 for $200 and now pedals are over $500. Can't afford that, I'll keep limping along, I'm not gonna make it big anyway
