Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) is a subclass of employer-sponsored visas, which allows Australian employers to nominate skilled workers to work and stay permanently in Australia. This kind of visa is applicable to both applicants who are outside Australia and those who are living and working in Australia on a temporary visa. ENS 186 visa holders are eligible to receive all benefits for an Australian permanent residence, which include but are not limited to:
- Work and live in Australia indefinitely
- Receive support for Medicare services
- Study in Australia with domestic students’ tuition fee
- Apply for Australian citizenship if eligible
- Sponsor family to come to Australia (if eligible)

My biggest question with the 186 is regarding the 3 years of experience requirement. Is this time counted for experience after university (e.g: whatever ACS considers as relevant exp after a certain date) only or it is the total amount of experience you have and can prove? Thanks

Hi, how r u, I am a chef with all the documentation ready, also my employer have SBS ready to sponsor me, the thing ia we dont advised to do LMT as we afriad there might be changes in 186DE this July, what is your advises?

Hey there, Thanks for commenting and asking your query. Here is the response from one of our migration agent, I hope it helps to solve your doubt. First of all, check the exemption of LMT. The country of your passport might be under exemption. In that case, you do not need any LMT. Secondly, to be honest with you, there is no requirement of LMT for 186 DE. LMT is the requirement for 482 visa. Lastly, I assume there would be no changes in relation to 186 DE in July. The department has been recently focusing on temporary visas more than permanent visas. Yes, there's an age limit. Your partner must be under 45 years old.
