its a lot like shingles- there is no cure, but some people have it under control- more so than others. you still have the virus, but your immune system can conquer it so you can have a normal lifespan. be careful what you take regarding other medications. for instance, i have the shingles virus and it doesn't bother me, but i take praluent and the praluent (similar to repatha) wakes it up occasionally. as you test negative- passing the virus to somebody else is quite rare. no worries- i will be on praluent for only another year or so once my LDL levels are low enough to satisfy my cardiologist. if i go off praluent- i may test negative for VZV (varicella zoster virus), but i still have the virus.

@@KPlyf i had a female friend who went thru hell and finally succumbed to uterine/liver cancer at 49 years of age because someone told her the same thing. i say dude should get screened for HPV and if clear, moms shouldn't need the vaccine, assuming monogamy. women are more likely to develop cancer from HPV infection- but only slightly. i say its only cool to gamble with YOUR OWN life.

there's no cure for HPV- or google is lying to us. which is it?

please be sure- there are 8 types of herpes that infect humans- that we know of. there are at least 4 types of human herpes viruses alone. and there is also kaposi's sarcoma, and epstein-barr viruses. and, yes, you must be screened for EACH to be sure. good luck to you.

if you are truly cured- that implies an inaccurate diagnosis. if the diagnosis was correct- i'm sorry, but there is no cure. see another doctor with a different health group/lab and get screened again.

'herpes' is a very general term, as we now know....see my comment up above.
