Far Cry 2 ● Aggressive Gameplay 

Took a short break and the channel hit 8K in the meantime. Huge thanks guys! This is my first PC gameplay video. Mouse & keyboard still feels funny to me, but I'm getting used to it. I got a couple more TLOU videos in the works, but I wont promise more than that because Red Dead is so close.

FarCry 2 in a sense feels the most like a FarCry game imo, the whole style of the series, you're dropped into a dangerous landscape and you have to fight you're way through, having guns break and malaria just adds to the experience.

2 is the New Vegas of the Farcry series

Loved the bit where the npc’s we’re like “we don’t know what’s happening, let’s stay put” and one replied “they could need help” In more recent games it’s almost always “we’re under attack! Get out there now!” Good example of Far Cry degradation

Even in 2019, this game's grapic is not bad at all

I usually don’t like being nostalgic but this was the game I absolutely loved. Minimum HUD, no enemy awareness gauge and some details like fire spreading from back fire of rpg, fragile guns in Africa and npc characters who can actually die. At first glance, these factors might appear to some gamers to be frustrating. Although, you will soon realize these things that restrain your action makes you think about how would you go around this through the gameplay. Of course I am not saying Far Cry 2 is inherently better than any recent titles. But they can, however, still learn many things from this particular game.

I really wish they kept a lot from this game. Even being so old, the guns sounds insanely real and unique. Plus gun jams

It's funny how detailed the gun mechanics are. You hear every click and snap when you reload, you hear bullets when they fall per shot with different groud impact noises to suit the terrain. I don't think I've seen this much detail in the layer far cry games. You also really feel the driving when you go around in the bush esp in the jeeps 2 was my first and the least interesting to me regardless. But you have to admit ubisoft created an amazing experience back then

This game still looks amazing. It's hard to believe it came out in 2008. Also if anyone else is still playing to eliminate the gun jamming problem just go to the store whenever possible and swap for new weapons

This was state of the art for it's time, nothing came close to the open world, physics and gunplay. Love the 360 kill btw, with the guy exiting the car, made me chuckle. They need to make another one like this masterpiece. This was a true war simulator.

Why oh why can’t Ubisoft make a 2019 version of this style. I enjoyed fc5 but come on guys, you really felt this was a true “survival” game....plus the world dynamics function is way better than later fc’s. THIS WAS A 2008 GAME, REALLY UBISOFT?! WTF

The next Far Cry should be a remaster of this with updated graphics, better controls, and maybe some new weapons.

God what a magnificent game, even by today's standards. I always thought the dialogue was a bit too fast and choppy and there wasnt much character depth, but considering some of the annoying ass characters you have to deal with in the newer ones, Im finding out I prefer the shallow impersonal interactions of the old days. You really feel like a merc who is traveling through the african bush all on your own, only once in a while checking back into civilization to pick up ammo and a new job, and only having prior experience telling you how to handle a situation. And even that can get thrown out the door last second. All they need in FC2 are some prowling predatorial animals thrown into the mix and I would be a happy man.

This game takes me back man. Even before I had kids. Best time was creating maps.

I love this game. Brings back lots of memories. What I like about farcry is you can go anywhere and the game reacts to you. Only thing is the guns deteriorate too quickly.

Just started playing Far Cry 2 again after years, the first time on Infamous. What a game :-) Your gameplay looks indeed great.

One of the best games ever made: •The lack of HUD display •The enemy communications giving away your position • the jamming on guns • the rag doll physics • enemies dragging there wounded partners to cover • objects physics • the environment / openness of this map. The map doesn’t look auto generated like it was made predictably. This is a kick ass map • your mini treasure map & tracker so your not finding shit instantaneously like in other games • immersion, sounds & ambiance •The way you heal (Bandages, Syringes, Pulling a bullet out, snapping bone back in place, etc.) •the 2 hour real life time day and night cycles • and NOW with these graphics mods, 60fps, 4K, etc. 10 / 10 game easily The game did have some flaws but that’s expected because of it’s 2008 time era when produced. If Ubisoft remastered this game in 2019, The game would generate millions in sales EASILY. Big $$$ without a doubt Forget making a new game Ubisoft, remaster this work of art game Lots of Far Cry fans probably didn’t even play Far Cry 2. Either because it looked crap back then, didn’t know about it, or said screw it and never tried playing it. They could even add additional survival and new in game features in a remastered to make this game feel even more immersive and just make this game more remarkably fun to play fully decked out: - needing to sleep -drinking water / eating food - Gas for vehicles - Adding Quality Wildlife ( Lions, Tigers, Elephants, etc.) - More attachments / Guns - (Potentially if decided) expanding the map size to explore more - Reputation bar - More dialogue - More random encounters - making night darker and scarier (cool with night vision) - Managing the respawn of enemies better - More variety of enemy injure animations and better enemy patterns - High resolution graphics - newest 2019 engines, software, visuals & audio maximizing this game. -Adding kick-ass multiplayer (Co-op mode, battle royale, TDM, etc.) - and more ideas Ubisoft thinks of The game needs some fine tuning. Mark my words though if Ubisoft chooses to remaster this game, and decides to put their full effort into making a best quality A+ version of this game after fully polishing it up, (e.g Rockstar games developing Red Dead Redemption 2; 150 hour + work weeks from the staff developing the game,) This game would be absolutely phenomenal!!! And for the PC version of a 2019 remastered FC2? You’ll have one of the best looking games of all time ever made. ⭐️I hope Ubisoft sees this⭐️ Ubisoft, please remaster this game.

The way you play really reflects the guerilla style fighting that you would find in a conflict like this. You really do make this game look a helluva lot better than it already was.

Honestly maybe my favorite far cry game. The strength and rawness that Far Cry 2 had is something no other game in the series has since replicated. No hitmarkers or kill confirmations and a limited HUD are strong developer choices that made this game feel very immersive. The visceral gunplay and dark tonal choices such as experiencing Malaria and killing for blood diamonds with rusty weapons that could break in your hands give such a desperate feel to the game. Nothing tops going to finish off the last wounded guy at a checkpoint and having your gun jam.

I forgot about the weapon inaccuracies in the game. The left handed bolt action rifle being used as a right handed rifle with a striper clip being used as a removable magazine in the bottom. The AK and Dragonov being completely wrong with the bolt, ejection, and safety selector all being on the left side. The G3 having a 20 round magazine modeled in game but having 30 rounds. Small details that really shouldn't have gotten overlooked. Still a great game though

Far Cry 2 is the best in the series. Some of the dialogue/ scenes were shit, but the overall combat, espionage, day/ night cycle, was great, which is the core of the series. Since 3 it's become a cartoon version of its former self. There is still fun to be had, but number 2 had a formula that we will never see again in future games. Similar to what Bethesda has done, it's been dumbed down for the masses. And that's coming from someone who still enjoys Skyrim, Fallout 4, etc.

Alot of people dont understand alot of things that made Far Cry 2 so unique and special is that it was a Tech Demo along with being before Ubisoft found their copy and paste tower gimmick, don't think it's goin to happen again
