Man, Diego and Anton's relationship is so complex. Anton both despises Diego and wants to shape him into his role. Diego both fears his father but also somewhat desires his acknowledgment. And though they are polar opposites in the end they do love each other.
@@claireburford8696 lol He probably had a different definition for-- and way of expressing, love. Far different than how we would. Maybe due to his years of abuse by his captors(some former guerillas) that he personally experienced and witnessed; The broken state of his father, and cold calculating survival tactics taught by his mother. A combination of many things, made him into the 'Anton Castillo' we knew and saw. I do believe he loved his son, but his way of expressing love was often broken, traumatic, and lacking many crucial elements of empathy. He had his reasons, I suppose.. Not saying I agree with his rendition of love, just that I somewhat understand its genesis. It just is what it is.
@@claireburford8696 Anton wanted his son to not experience the same thing he experienced, hatred and rise to power after seeing his father killed. He did not want his son to follow the same path he faced now and decided to end the pain that Diego would face in the future, so he ended it in the most humane way of death to end ones suffering. He did what was right at the last moment.
@@dukekevy6650 yeah. Diego would have definitely gotten tortured or fucked up even more by libertad. Which would have fueled his hate towards the rebellion. He probably would have rose to power with the people still loyal to the castillo family. Im glad dani didn't take power. He was a good soldier but definitely not a leader
@@lukad7744 Each character was defined as "Quirky male who doesn't do anything" "Ultra badass female who has to fox everything quirky male ruined" Story was non-existent and was either rushed to get you to the next section of gameplay or "here's 15 minutes of our characters pretending to be drunk". Even the whole premise of Far Cry that they've kept somewhat consistent is gone entirely from this one. Far Cry 2 - 5 (we dont talk about the first one) were all about your character and the corruption you gain from being forced into these fights that aren't connected to you and the cost of what you're fighting for. The african mercenaries from 2, pirates from 3, freedom fighters from 4, and cultists from 5. Here you're already a native, you already know the bad guy and what he does. Worst yet is they paint the guerillas in a perfect light save for a few homages to what happens post revolution. At least 4 had a fair time showing you what happens to countries that rise up from tyranny, 6 just says "eh hombre its gonna be like, super hard ese" and thats it. Horrible garbage game designed to pander to twitter blue checkmarks and CoD players. A disgrace to the seires and the legacy Far Cry 3 made.
@@MsHumanOfTheDecade maybe for you but for me I like Clara she's pretty awesome character, an she could've just make Dani leader without no death's that includes El Tigre because he shouldn't have died either.
So every time you meet a new charecter in this game they almost fucking kill you. Noice. I will put it in my notes in how to write compelling side charecters.
@Blood Brad What do you mean "blame" you dunce. I was obviously admiring the way they have made every new encounter life threatening which I thought was neat.
So...that's like, a 100% chance there's just going to be a civil war _and_ another dictator after the Castillos? God, these revolutionaries ended this war in the worst possible way xD
It's actually very hard to implement a democracy because dictators structure their government in a way where, if they're disposed of, there'll be more chaos than order that follows. Implementing democracy will either be successful like Tunisia or will fail like Egypt.
I don't think the war ended nor do i think that the people who wrote the game tought very much about it Truth is, revolutions are hard and dirty, for as much as i like politics and i am a full on leftist who thinks a revolution is the only way foward, i still don't know how a democracy would come to be after a revolution, or how the new rule would take care of things without looking authoritarian as fuck There is so much to look out for
This is actually very realistic man. If you look at history, revolutions or 'freedom' after a horrible autocracic government or dictator are 9/10 times absolute fuckshows. Look at modern Libya, Iraq. Or even Cuba which this game was more or less based upon. Think this was very well done instead of giving a 'happy' ending
1:51:43 Castillo really knew how to answer the question about slavery. While Western media may condemn him for using slavery, he was quick to point out how America technically profited from the same industry in the sale and manufacturing of cotton and how systematic racism and the prison industrial complex still perpetuates that same legacy in the US. Not to mention other nations using child or slave labor in the manufacturing of clothes and cellphones. This is why Giancarlo Esposito is always a brilliant casting choice for a villain or major antagonist.
That part actually happened IRL when past American defectors to North Korea tell the communist politicians and the Supreme leader about America's slavery past Ubisoft must've read that story and put it in their game
I would've retorted with America supporting dictators like him during the cold war in most south American countries. They didn't want Communist rulers like Cuban dictator Castro popping up and becoming threats.
previous games allowed you to see your character in a mirror through a cutscene, which accomplishes what you want without breaking POV immersion. The point is to completely dive into the shoes of this digital person in your computer and live in this world as close as possible. That is the goal of cinematic art.
@@virajkhatri7574 true yet the majority prefers seeing their main protagonist and hear them speak and interact with others. A complete first person POV without any main protagonist dialogue interaction with other characters isn’t nearly as good imo.
@@-slice-6103 This is why Far cry 3 was the best in my opinion. The protagonist really had his own character but as a player you always stayed in his POV. This fully immersed you into the character. You couldn't see him in cutscenes because you were seeing those cutscenes through his eyes, but you did know what he looked like through photos and you could customize his arm tattoos by ulocking skills. This would've worked well with FC6 as well
@@DuSeun It could’ve. The FC6 main protag isn’t rlly anymore interesting than the side characters so it would’ve worked as well being in full POV. Far Cry 3 is indeed still the best of the franchise and the full POV worked effectively. I can’t say the same for CoD Ghosts’ full POV. Felt wrong in that game
As a Spanish speaker, allot of the Spanish dialogue was hella cringe, I’ve never met any other person of Latino or Hispanic descent speak with those little quirks...
I don't know how many games involved the slitting of a throat and characters died right after. On top of that, many of us aren't nurses or doctors, nor did any of us had to deal with a slit throat.
What I would have liked about this game is some manner of choice that allows for replayability. I mean, besides playing the male or female charachter of Dany rojas, there is nothing THAT important that you could decide for the story to end differently. You could either leave Yara, and basically don't play, and you can kill an American that doesn't affect anything about the game. I would have gladly loved a decision for each faction that leads to the final confrontation. Like deciding the fate of Alejandro Montero, or choosing sides with either La Moral or The Legends (I prefer the Legends, La Moral is just a bunch of idiot kids that don't listen to anyone), or even worst: Choosing between Clara and Diego!
Yes Clara and Diego would be a great choice because Clara could want him dead to clear the slate while Dani would say that he’s just a kid and then you have to decide whether to allow her to kill him or step in and stop her and in so doing accidentally kill her and for La Moral and the legends the choice could be who to want to represent their region and in turn who would lead their part of the battle for the capital where if you chose the kids you have more fighters and have people hack buildings to help you get the drop on enemies but if you chose the Legends you would have a different access roots through sewers and have fighters that would look older but in their stats have more health and better weapons as their veterans from the original revolution and have experience one thing I wished was that for the America I let him live but you could have it to where if you let him live the fighters in the final battle could have armor and if you killed him you would get more fighters and such and for Montero if you let him come back he could give Dani and the gang drugs that could boost your health and make invulnerable like the drugs from far cry 3 and another one at least on my mind is they could’ve made the drug dealer guy for the band section into a choice on whether to work for him or not as you either help him but cause a drug epidemic and in turn weakens your fighters as some are on drugs but provide funds and such from his drug trade to get better gear but if you don’t work with him you now also have to fight against the drug dealers in the capital
Apreciate it, I have a playstation 5 and the money to buy this game, I just wanna know the story without the necessity of playing 20hrs, not really into far cry saga but I love that actor xd... Thanks.
@@joshuawillis602 The kid feel the most real yeah, but mostly only bad guy characters seems real The revolutionaries are not serious enough, or when they are it's only to fight between each others, it's the far cry spin yes but with that plot it's weird and takes you out of the plot
Same, would of been better if he sent his troops to kill him or if Castillo just shot him dead, but i see why that cant happen and im glad that it didnt.
expected something different, this is pretty generic for a far cry game, just like the previous installments, you start from the bottom you capture towns and shit, gear up, meet new characters and kill the bad guy.
If it ain’t broke don’t fix it, nothing wrong with this type of story structure especially with it being common place. It’s how it’s done which may lead it to being great or horrible.
@Alex Luca Go back to the original. If they want to go all weird and wacky with the actual Junk Tech that wouldn't work, why not go back to the interesting super drug that transformed you in Farcry 1? No need for poorly written characters, no villiages need saving, no over throwing the government to just be told at the end "Oh haha, see you were just a tool for something the same or worse.". Farcry used to be about survival in a hostile place, where not only is the environment trying to kill you but the people around it. It was about you being alone in a place with almost no allies. Why don't we go back to that and maybe even make a new engine instead of the one we've been using since 2012? Or at the very least change the gameplay enough so it dosen't FEEL the exact same. The thing is their are plenty of good ideas they COULD do. The issue is Ubisoft dosen't care about that, they care about what they can make very fast, and make plenty of money with, without pissing people off too much. Just make it good enough whilst forcing your devs to crunch, than we can get to work on the next one.
I watch this so often, it’s not even funny. I love this movie version, such a great storyline and such wonderful graphics. This Far Cry was great to play. 10/10 for me. 🌟 ✨
@@johnjoe769 living in a country were we had those kind of leaders, the great acomplishmenta they did and that el president dide were made despite him, not because Like You can do those things like the cancer curing drug without turning the country into a dictatorship
It’s cause they’re actually “lawful” kinds of evil in a dictatorship. Past Far Cry villains were always chaotic evil. I think this game did a way better job structuring a dictatorship than Far Cry 4 did, which vaguely alluded to Pagan Min running a dictatorship.
Admiral Benitez felt a bit pathetic and Maria was a bit heavy on the Hollywood airhead side, I would've preferred a media character inspired by actual propagandists from history.
Whilst Marquessa was Diego’s mother, a lot of her arc was psychological torture and brainwashing. She had an academy dedicated to tormenting rebels, LGBT e.t.c… She was quite vicious actually.
Part of the problem with far cry 6 is none of the characters in this game are appealing. They are both sides immoral and vile from beginning to end. It’s hard to root for the rebels when they are as vulgar and vile as you can even imagine. At times I routed for them to just get all killed because they’re just not appealing. Part of what makes good writing and good storytelling is making your characters appealing. Making the reader or player want to be like them. I want nothing to do with these people. In fact if they remained in slavery and all got killed by Gustavo I’d be perfectly fine with that.
I was gonna play the game but since people get to access it days upon its release just because and I’m bored and see this no point to play it if I watched it lol it should be released if it is ready
I think its meh too but it fits Anton's character at least. he's straight up psychotic, knowing he's lost the war, that he's on his deathbed and that Diego would've grown up to be a "lamb", he did what he thought was right, and left the country to the "terrorists"
1:40:33 this truck hauling Christmas trees would be a perfectly fine thing to say if they weren’t on an island, in warm tropical and humid climate, and in a jungle😭
@@CatchTheMarmosets he is the one asking why there's Christmas trees, I'm just saying December is hot in there, and Christmas is in December, and from what I know, a lot of them there believe in Christianity
Ok The legends and the morale are good representations of Latin American revolution types I just wish another dev team made this, with fun gameplay and dealing more with politics and how a revolution in latin america would work, seeing how close Brasil is to that scenario La libertad is ok The matanzas are just cringe And the farmers look like something out of an statunitian fiction
I would have liked to see more of the "Politics" side of it too, honestly. I had never heard the term "Statunitian" before, so, thanks for teaching me that!
@@Question-Log Wasn’t Jason tripping when he killed him? And a body was never found, right? I didn’t play the game but it’s what I’ve heard. Anyway, Boomer is in Far Cry 6 and Hurk is mentioned, so it’s implied that Montana never blew up and it really was just a bad drug trip on Dep’s part. I think that means it’s fair to assume that Jason killing Vaas wasn’t real.
The ending of the game left a lot to be desired with Diego dying, the cliche “Dani is the only one we trust to be in charge”, and then her ultimately just saying “meh I don’t really feel like it.”
"Yara is yours, dont fuck it up" Yea, their gonna fuck it up, they aint shit, their young and dumb, they had a leader with a heart of gold that might have been able to make something work but that leader is also dead. Clara believed in co-existence, nothing I've seen of the others convinces me their able to set aside their "us vs them" mentality. The Castillo's may be gone like that final rule "A guerrilla's war is never over". In the end he was right, they dont have a plan for the future, they may know how to be Guerrilla's but they dont know how to run a country, democratically or otherwise. I did like Vaas coming in at the end though.
You did now lol there are barely any comments as it let’s not forget the alligator or croc i guess they aren’t permanent pets and appear during certain missions
