Far Cry 6 Review | It Should Never Have Been Made 

So Ubisoft has become a product of what they wrote: a literal definition of insanity.

I am a female gamer, and I major eye-rolled when I saw almost all people in power in this game, were women, and if that wasn't enough, you also had a sprinkle of trans in for good measure. I very much doubt that a South American revolution would be governed by women and the lgbtq people.

They really should release a version where we play on the side of the dictator. Hunting down and killing those unique 'rebel' characters would be fun.

One of the most glaring insults to the actual citizens of the country this was based on is that it makes zero mention of the ideology that made it all happen. Everything to not insult the wrong side.

I swear no one on this island can fucking drive, the amount of times people have purposely swerved into me, swerved off road, swerved into pedestrians, and swerved into tanks is incredible.

I was actually super-impressed with the launch trailer, the one with Castillio, his son, and the hand grenade. That was fucking amazing. The instant I found out I wouldn't be working for the guy, I lost the few tiny shreds of interest that the trailer generated. And as for Ubisoft's endgame... well, I've been calling all their releases "Ubisoft Sandbox Game: The Game" for years now.

I would buy *_Ubisoft Asset Flipper_* at once. Think about the modding scene and what could be accomplished ...

The stupid wackiness is insulting, actually. They try to portray these dark, edgy realistic things like government violence and oppression and then they trivialise it all with stupid wacky bullshit. It was the same in Far Cry 5. On the one hand it's trying really hard to be an adult take on cults and mass murder, then they start trying to be comedic by getting you to harvest bull testicles or some stupid crap. I hate that total lack of tonal consistency.

Why is it that many shooter game developers lately think that your barrel and suppressor should be glowing orange after only shooting a few rounds? When I was in the US Marine Corps we shot hundreds of rounds out of the M249 Squad Automatic Weapon (SAW), and yes, the barrel will get hot (in which case you swap out barrels), but I never saw it glow orange.

I appreciated them naming a Mexican weenie dog after Mexican sausage. I gave it credit for that and absolutely nothing else. I agree with Dunkey, they made a fantastic cock fighting game, and then their manager walked up asking what they were doing so the pumped out a far cry game around it to look like they were working.

I'd like a FarCry game where at the end you can choose to join the bad guy, assuming it's a good game and you/your character actually enjoys the violence (like in FC3) it would offer a decent endgame decision while also adding some replayability to people who enjoy the combat. Something along those lines. There might be some issues with quests and all but im just spit balling

UBI's been a woke company for some time. They always include that little pre-game virtue signalling/pandering disclaimer about how 'diverse' their development team is.

The good ole' Farcry issue of "fuck why can't I fight alongside the supposed bad guy" returns again. Haven't played a Farcry since 5, but I remember that in Farcry 4 everyone wanted to join the Royal Army and kill the Golden Path rebels with Pagan. Along with this no one wanted to destroy the radio towers because the rebel radio was awful compared to Pagan's propaganda radio that actually made it seem like a combat zone. Then, in 5 I'd say they had a breakthrough where I was happy to help Hope County against the Cult, even though the Cult radio was the better option by far.

You are doing Gods work, i cannot even begin to imagine what it is like to play Ubisoft games. There is this unmistakable generic soulless mould that all these games are factory pressed in and at this point it really should be given a name and what's a more fitting name than simply "Ubisoft". Why even have different series at this point? I can barely tell the difference barring a couple of exceptions.

The more i listen to your review the more it sounds like they were allowed to implement what THEY wanted , not what players actually want . We need much older developers back to make these games as this game especially feels like it was made by a team based on personal choice. I say that because look at the helicopter 🚁 thing .... someone just didn't like the fact that YOU as a player got to fly around and play they way YOU wanted. So they said NAH!!! we can't allow them to do that . This pandering to the weaker player nowadays drives me INSANE

I've loved farcry games for years and years. Playing over and over. Oct.6 I got my play in on Farcry6 and I won't purchase another farcry again after buying this. They truly fucked up a good thing in my opinion.

Already played this game 3 games ago. Came back for Primal a bit due to the setting but that got old quickly also.

Bad gun mechanics in games can be attributed to people who hate guns but need to develop them for the game.... despite not knowing anything about the guns or why they hate them.

"Ubisoft Open World Asset Flipper" this might have been just a joke, but think about it, It could potentially be the best game there is. Imagine Garry's Mod, but instead of the ancient Source Engine, you get their engine and access to all of those amazing assets from across every game. One can dream tho. In the meantime I really hope they're not going to make a FC7.

The vehicles and enemies can literally spawn within like a 50m radius .I’ve watched watched whole trucks just spawn. In the same spot thrice. UBI games are so frustrating because they look so realistic but the implementations of their gameplay mechanics take you out of the game and remind you so clearly that you are playing a game, and not like in a fun way. Their mechanics tend to feel like mods rather than designed mechanics that ground you.

Ubisoft shits out another piece of crap but this time enlists a well known actor you rarely even get to confront until the end to appeal to anyone who watched Breaking Bad. Problem is Breaking Bad despite being very long had some excellent acting. In this the only one doing the good job was the guy the western woke culture deems to be evil lol.

It feels like a cheaply made game to try and make as much money as possible by having poor shooting mechanics, poor driving mechanics, the NPC's are nitwits, the game is just awful.

That's pretty much the minimum hardware requirement for most of Ubisoft's games. And these are guys who get to do the next Star Wars games.

There’s a bug in the game that locks the AR-C (a very powerful rifle this time around) away from you if you complete the Stranger Things DLC mission before obtaining the gun in a treasure hunt. This happened to me, I’d have to restart my campaign playthrough all over just to unlock it.

Just an Idea of how the weapons should have been rebalanced is have old soviet weapons as the starters giving you the SKS, PPSH, and Mosin at the beginning. Then have better weapons like the FAL, M16A1,AKMs in the middle, and end with all the super expesnive AS VALs, Bullpups, and Carbines at the end game.

I was looking forward to this game too I remember being swooped away by the trailer and then I got punched in the fucking face

I started the game and was really excited to get into a new far cry game. FC3 was awesome, FC4 was pretty forgettable, I loved FC5 and New Dawn but I couldn’t even get properly into FC6 before the bugs made the game completely unplayable. Worst frame drops I’ve ever encountered. The game would be running at 75fps, I’d open the map and then it was suddenly running at 18fps and nothing fixed it. Even when the frame rate was fine, there was a terrible weapon wheel glitch which made it almost impossible to change weapons. So I decided to put the game on ice until they sorted out the ridiculous bugs. Haven’t touched it in a few months. At least give me the opportunity to like or dislike the game. The way it was, I couldn’t even play it to find out.

I haven't played Far Cry since 4. I have no interest in broken mechanics and shit stories.

Moreover, just HOW BAD was the previous Communist government that Anton was knowingly chosen and elected in an election that was most certainly slanted against him in every way possible?

Eh, I enjoyed it. Took a while to get used to it, because they did change a LOT of things compared to the previous games (everyone who claims otherwise is either intentionally misleading or unfamiliar with the previous games, sorry). Clearing camps while listening to podcasts is as comfy as ever, and the story is engaging enough to push you forward. Personally I don't want them to fuck with Far Cry more than they did for 6. I know why I'm buying these games. They absolutely should experiment with new IP's, but I don't want to buy a Far Cry game and discover that, oh, this is now like STALKER or whatever dramatic departure. Far Cry means something, there's no reason to twist it into meaning nothing like they did with the Tom Clancy brand.

Whelp another thing I used to enjoy gone. Running dry for games recently. Booted up Yakuza 6 last week, been having a great time with the clan battle mini game. Recommend the series if you haven't played it.

Far cry 6 writers really screwed the pooch on this game. So many opportunities to make it a great game. They concentrated more on America being a racist country. Gender confused idiots rapping for absolutely no conceptual reason in this game. Painting statues, painting signs, destroying road signs, finding children of a philandering legend. Where they could have created a better game--- Discovered the traitor that caused Dani to be captured in the "dead drop" mission. Rescued a legend that was rotting away in a cell. Many claim that this game was not infested with SJW B.S. , but I say it is - one need only listen to the conversations. Not impressed with a game where the writers push a personal agenda rather then concentrate on a game that might have been one of the best. I guess Ubisoft is littered with triggered gender confused children of poor profession or they allow idiots to run the show.

honestly i found this video bullshit, the game is overhated. i enjoyed playing it and the insurgencies and special operations are rly nice too. yeah, its not a difficult game, until u decide to play solo special operations on hard+ difficulty, but its fun regardless.

Meh, truthfully it just seems like an echo chamber in the comment section of these review videos. Truth is you’re not going to know if you like it until you play it. I almost missed out on the chance to play because I kept watching negative reviews, then I decided to go for it when it went on sale and it’s been pretty fun actually. I thought the story would be awful and the gameplay suck, according to negative reviews, but neither were true in my opinion. Especially playing as male Dani. It just checks out. Maybe it’s because I can see those things actually going down that way.

37:11 Having modded Halo and also played games like Insurgency Sandstorm, I know exactly what you are talking about. Mis-tweaked settings or glitched AI can result in them having seemingly ESP. Insurgency offers a great example where enemy AI controlling turrets on technicals will shoot at you from behind cover with absolute precision. Sure, the object or wall protects you, but you can still see the particle effects of the .50 cal trying to hit you where you are hiding and where the AI shouldn't be able to see you. You want the AI to have a sense of the player position but if not moderated properly for the lack of a proper term, the AI can either know where you are or not. Without a middle ground and less complex behavior tree scripting, the AI can appear to have X-ray vision where they might know where you are behind cover for X amount of time. It takes careful tweaking and playtesting to not have dumb AI that instantly forget you are there the second you disappear and AI that don't automatically know where you are precisely when hiding. In Halo, the AI are scripted to fire on your last known position and search for the player after a certain amount of inactivity. They can also be toggled to always know where the player is but this is rare. Sight and sound can also be scripted to play a role. Most of the time, only line of sight is used.

You could literally sculpt a .50 cal bullet out of earwax left out on the bathroom counter for a week...if you are shot in the leg with that at 17,000 ft/lbs of pure kinetic energy, you will be missing a considerable part of said leg

Game developers need to learn that no one is playing a game to relax and wanting to make money. Odds are most people playing it are getting done with their daily grind to make their own so that they could afford the game.

FC is an 18+ game, but clearly addresses adolescent kids, who are laughing their ass off when they hear the sound of a fart. It's a real shame that the franchise has sunk so low now. The fact that the game looks gorgeous can't prevent that there is this big pile of shit underneath it. But then again, these 12 year old sofa Playstation junks will not care at all, and that is were UBI mostly gets the easy money from. Yeah far cry is pretty boring these days and they put things in making it more of a grind more of a chore to play. Basically the same game as all the others but less fun to play with more bugs less content and more micro transactions. An I've never spent money on a single micro transactions, I never will. Even if and this is where it seems like gaming is going, even if you've bought the game and they still make you pay a fee to play the game. I will cut my d*** off before I ever pay for non existent crap on a game that I will probably only spend a month or year at most playing even if the game is good. Also I only like single player games or playing co-op with friends which you can't do in most games anymore you have to play online if you wanna play with a couple of friends. Haven't played far cry since I finished the 4th one. Also I totally agree with you on the woke crap, the characters are lame the story is crap and that is most video games these days. I agree with everything that you said except your belief that the Far Cry franchise peaked with Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. If you ask me, Far Cry 4 was when the franchise peaked. Excellent plot, awesome gameplay and exquisite exploration. Other than that, excellent analysis!

I went from 5 to 4. I loved 5, minus the getting caught bits. But trying to free hostages having to go stealth made me put 4 away. I am not a fulltime gamer, I do not want to have to restart a mission a 100 times. As people complain about it getting worse every sequal, I may want to try 6.
