Anyone hating on Riff Raff just doesn't understand him. He's not trying to be the greatest rapper, he's just having fun being crazy. Every rapper doesn't have to be hardcore talking about gangster shit or preaching knowledge to the new generation. He's like a hip-hop circus in the middle of a bunch of operas, and to me it's just what the game needs right now.
My english teacher at my university had us analyze this song. We learned that African-American culture is seen as "cool" and is often used to empower artists that feel weighed down by stereotypes. Example, a stereotype is that white people can't be cool, but rift raft supposedly dissproves that idea. Another stereotype is that asian-american people can't be "tough," but fareastmovement supposedly dissproves this idea. They also dress as blue collar people defeating the stereotype that asian people are always "braniacs." We also analyzed how women are hypersexualized in the media and used as "props" to empower the male people in music videos. It's all an *allusion (excuse me, illusion, har har) of course, but still really interesting. Despite everything, I like the song. lol
Fun fact the Director, Mike Clattenburg, is the same Director of Black Jesus, Trailer Park Boys and the band Len who's famous song "Steal My Sunshine" is the 1999 summer soundtrack that is still timeless....
tato i love everything about the song, and this is not supposed to be an Eminem deep lyrical song, its a summer bangin’ song to get loose and thats all.
Do you know how long I've been looking for this song???!!! No you don't! MY ex played this for me trippin on acid once and I've been looking for it for ever cause I couldn't remember the name or artist 😂😂😂😂😂
lmao I just love the way riff raff starts his verse running in like "HEY BITCHES! I'M THE CAPTAIN NOW!" dude's such a playa haha btw: this song is pretty fly sick ass beat
Got this off MusicStopDOTorg. I'm "Asian American" too, but these days I prefer just plain old "American": Kev Nish (Kevin Nishimura) - Chinese/Japanese-American DJ Virman (Virman Coquia) - Filipino-American J-Splif (Jae Choung) - Korean-American Prohgress (James Roh) - Korean-American
DAmn they really pulled the cameos for this one Yultron, Dumbfoundead, Nicepeter, Watsky, Jefree Star, Cataracs?, Steve Greene, are just the ones i know
Just like 99% of bands. If they are lucky they get one hit song, which is usually not like the majority of their music. People find out what the band is really like... and just fade away.
