It must be nice to have parents that encourage your scientific studies. I had to hide most of mine. Once I was melting down a huge batch of lead and used an old spoon to scoop the slag off the lead. Well I left the spoon in the garage and my mom found it while I was out and when I returned she had a drug test waiting because she thought I used the spoon for drugs.

So cool to see someone explaining this fundamental principle so easily. I wonder if you could do some more explaining? I feel it is time. The production of electrical energy via magnetic displacement is achieved in only one of four ways. 1. A wire is passed my a stationary magnet. 2. A magnet is passed by a stationary wire. 3. A coil of wire is energised or discharged in proximity to another coil, inducing current. 4. The polarity is changed in an energised coil in proximity to another coil of wire, inducing current. This last method is the most efficient, and with proper switching methods and speeds can produce currents in excess of the losses in the primary. I think though, simply demonstrating this fact of fast switching to your many subscribers may encourage someone to build something.

Hey Cody, great job as always. I think you're onto something here in terms of how to teach the concept of "cross products" in physics. I would do it in the opposite manner though. We know that vectors can be multiplied in this strange way that has interesting mathematical properties like parity violation and geometric invariance but it turns out this funny form of multiplication is everywhere! Literally makes the world go round! Then all of these neat demos would be obviously part of the same phenomenon. I get the feeling that's sort of what you were going for. Either way, keep it up.

I can't tell the difference between the experiments setting and the result... im not sure how something additional can be determined from the outcome.

very thorough explanation of the Faraday effect and his experiments! Thank you for sharing I think he got bummed out that his experiment, taking advantage of motion directed tangent along fields, could not produce much torque or rpm (rotating outside the strongest magnetic field lines.) Faraday is credited with the first electric motor but as books teach, he took Andre-Marie Ampere's theory of a year earlier and others' and demonstrated it

Going back to the start of the video with the wire defection, if you replaced the wire with with a length of fish tank silicone air tube and filled it with a saline solution, would it also deflect from the magnet? I see problems with generating hydrogen and oxygen in the pipe building up pressure. Food for thought.. Or maybe a test?
