Could not agree more and as I often say on here, now 70 and once being an IT Teacher and Trainer since 1982, regret very much bringing in such technology, Nigel is absolutely spot on. What is worse, is how bad IT technology and especially support has become, imagine all those cards being managed by untrained Indian and Pakistani young men and women living in their own homes making decisions about your freedom, because I can assure just as banks are doing to make even more profit that is exactly what a government would do. My generation of the 1960s were brought up either reading, or having read to us by teachers (i.e. proper teachers) and often on TV and at the cinema films of Brave New World, 1984 and Animal Farm where we learnt the dangers of such 'control' which technology has now gives to those we vote into power, who unlike the politicians of the past wanted to preserve our national and historical democratic rights and freedoms. This motley lot of self-serving MPs want to control us and as Nigel so rightly says, it would be the same as living in Russian and having to show your papers, which I experienced when visiting there. Also snake like Sunak has no intention of stopping the migrants he just sees this as an opportunity to make out he is actually doing something but this NON-indigeneos PM with other passports has absolutely no idea of our heritage and history, especially our very proud and long term history of being the most truly democratic country in the world, which ID cards would take away in one foul stroke.

Who would thrust his hand and shout "SIR, SIR, SIR, SIR, SIR, SIR, SIR, SIR" and when the teacher knowing full well, what you were going to say and all the other kids did as well, said to you "Yes Clives". You with total glee would say "You made a mistake Sir". With a great big grin on your face, would look around at all the other kids, because they had finally noticed sad little you. Having in life had several professions, travelled and worked a great deal around the world, known, worked and close relationships with many people, witnessed events that most people would not see - now 70 have come to a very strong conclusion, that it IS 'passive aggressives' that make this world work as history shows so very well. You do me a great service because the people I have admired, looked up and tried to copy in my life, who were intelligent, cared about people, were dedicated and hard-working, were good leaders that people followed and admired, had conviction and saw things through even when life got tough, accepted they had flaws as I certainly do. Also, having studied Phycology and to a degree have taught it for management and leadership courses, I believe I am able to recognize a 'passive aggressive'. So you pay me a great compliment, you have made my day 🙂 and I promise I am not intending to be sarcastic. I doubt you will, but I did not write this to have the last word, so please come back and I promise to accept what you say, but do so with more than just one sentence please. :-)
'You will not be allowed to hoard digital currency' meaning your money has a time limit! You wont be allowed savings, you will be forced to spend it, corporations want it in their pockets and the politicians who introduce it will be on a percentage...!!
