Nice to hear a different interpretation of the Neil Gow classic. Might not appeal to the purists but I'm enjoying it! Only one small point, Neil Gow was a Scottish composer for the fiddle so he was writing about Scottish whisky. Whiskey is the Irish or American kind. Still like the playing though!
Yes a law was passed preventing the making and selling of whisky and Neil Gow wrote the tune, though these days he's not credited enough for it. More happily he later wrote another tune called 'Welcome whisky back again'.
