Oh my GODDDDD! It’s happening! Any time any reactor does this show, it reminds me yet again of how incredible those first 2 seasons were (3 & 4 were very good, don’t get me wrong), and how BOTH seasons are in my top 50 seasons of tv. If you knew how many shows I’ve seen, you’d know how big of a compliment that is!
@@Nick_CF It is! Enjoyed it even more on second viewing. For me, it’s basically the difference between an A (S1&2) and an A minus (S3). All exceptional!
S1 and S2 of this plus True Detective S1 and S2 all being around the same time was fucking exciting as hell. I think Fargo S1 + 2 and TD S2 are all very underrated. Can't wait to use this as a rewatch sort of, haven't seen them in a while.
I went into this series totally blind and was completely blown away. The writing and dialog is next level. The characters are so well written and the actors are all excellent! Just letting you know it only gets better and better! Great reactions!
Billy Bob Thornton is absolutely amazing in this series. You had the same sick reaction as me and enjoyed his character killing everyone 😂🤣😂🤣. He plays the crazy killer almost too well.
Noah Hawleys series LEGION had a better pilot episode. What a great writer and director I loved LEGION and Fargo so much! I can’t wait for season 5 of Fargo and his new new series based on the aliens movies
YES! I'd hoped you would get into this after the movie. Always felt this interpretation was made perfectly in the film's image while still managing to feel fresh and standing on its own legs. And definitely fun to see the little details carrying over to this plot from the original story. Seasons 1 and 2 were far and away some of my favorite pieces of TV when it came out. Can't wait to revisit it all with you! P.S. Congratulations on upcoming - possibly new arrival by now - Baby Schmitt!!! What a joy to hear, and I wish you good health and happiness in this new chapter ❤
Enjoyed this reaction. One of my favourite shows. One season has the biggest WTF! moment in TV history. It also contains what Stephen King said(I'm paraphrasing)was the best hour of TV drama ever.
Wow! You're only weeks away from welcoming your beautiful daughter into this world. (Can you even imagine what she'll see in her lifetime?) I'm wishing you an easy labor and delivery, Samantha. And for you as well, TBR. It's so hard to see someone that you love so much be in that much pain. But she will be worth it, times 100. I'm so happy for both of you.
YES! One of my favorite series. I personally love the first 3 seasons. Season 4 isn't as great as the first 3 but it's still pretty good (better than most other tv shows).
You are so going to enjoy the Fargo universe! Season 1 of the show is my favorite because of Billy Bob Thornton and Martin Freeman. I'm a big fan of Billy Bob. I've seen all his films. But when I saw this series when it aired on FX, I only knew Martin Freeman as the shy porn actor stand-in in Love Actually and as Watson to Benedict Cumberbatch's Sherlock Holmes. Martin blew me away as the bumbling Lester. I couldn't believe this English actor could play this awkward Minnesota-accented American. It's hilarious. The first season was nominated for 18 Emmys because of the brilliant acting, writing and directing. It was really a big hit. The fact that you've seen the movie will help give you subtext. Throughout the whole series, comments are made about the history of Fargo. The very violent history of Fargo, so references to the movie and to the other seasons will be made as you progress through this wonderful journey. Every season is a standalone period in Fargo history, but overall think of the total series and the movie as the Fargo universe. The Coen brothers are just amazing! Oh, and I want to say congratulations on your baby! ❤❤❤
The seasons are their own self-contained stories taking place in different eras, but they are also connected. The connection with the 4th (and final so far) season is looser than the others though.
I LOVE the first season and then the second season is just on an entire different level. Season 2 and true detective season 1 are two of my favorite seasons of TV ever.
I would say they are almost reverse reflections/two sides of the same coin. While both are terrifying, BBT puts on a friendly affectation when creating chaos while Chigurh remains coldly laconic while bulldozing through life (he does remind me of another character in season 2 though 😉)
@@LordVolkov yeah Chigurh doesn’t seem like he has the ability to function in a normal society so he just ignores it by killing anyone that gets in his way. Thornton knows enough to put on that facade of being a friendly person.
I love these since each 10 episode season is their own little story, plus they really feel like an extension of the movie because it gives you the same feeling. Seasons 1,2 and 3 are really good. 4 is okay too, but it was rushed some because of covid. If you haven't seen much with Billy Bob, you HAVE to watch Sling Blade! Enjoy! Star-studded cast for every season as well.
4 movies come to mind when talking about Billy Bob Thornton. A Family Thing (1996), which got him started in writing screenplays. He's not in it but Robert Duvall and James Earl Jones play brothers. Need I say more? He also has a cameo in a Robert Duvall wrote, directed movie in which Duvall also stars in called The Apostle (1997). Then Billy Bob Thornton is in a movie with John Cusack which is Pushing Tin (1999). But, Thornton's big movie which he wrote, directed, and starred in and won for best picture called Sling Blade (1996), which also has John Ritter and a surprise cameo, but watch The Apostle first.
Super excited to see your reactions to this show it’s so good!! I hope you guys are doing great and having a wonderful weekend!! Another film and show you guys would love is The Nice Guys and The Terror season 1.
This show brought Alison Tolman out of nowhere to be a consistently working actor ever since, even being given another series lead (Emergence, 2019). It's impressive and unusual for an actress her size to be the female lead of two different dramatic series.
Season 3 is great, people don’t know what they’re talking about in my opinion. I also enjoy season 4 but will admit that it’s not as strong as the first three.
S1 to 3 are amazing TV. Game of thrones and breaking bad get all the views (Breaking bad is good but over long, overwrought) but this is TOP stuff. Some of the best stuff ever. Possibly THE best fictional drama tv show. Chernobyl damn good too but more docu / non fiction.
Billy Bob Thornton is *FANTASIC* in this as Lorne Malvo. Everyone is great in their roles to be honest but he really stands out as an excellent villain.
So excited for you guys to see S1 - 3. I think all first 3 seasons are great. S1 and 2 were top tier. It's so fun and full of mystery. You're gonna love it.
This series is fantastic. I put the first 3 seasons up against anything, season 4 is maybe not quite as strong but even it's better than 99% of most other shows. You guys are in for a treat.
1 of my favorite all time shows. Season 2 is my personal favorite but season 1 is amazing too. Seems I’m in the minority but I like seasons 3-4 a lot too. Hope you react to all of them bc they are making a new season.
Oh my word yes! HaHa! First three seasons are good (not seen the fourth) but I have to say the SECOND season is some of the best TV I've watched since Breaking Bad.
1 and 2 are related by recurring characters. Season one is modern, Season two is the 70's so the lead cop in season one is a kid in season 2. Season 4 is also related in it's own amazing way and takes place in the 50's.
I love all 4 seasons (and am eagerly awaiting Season 5 later this year), they are all separate stories but set in the same world with connections (that I won't spoil), see if you can figure them out before it becomes obvious and each season has at least one weird moment that'll confuse you. Such a fun compelling show that'll make for fun reactions. 😀
Such a great show. Keep up with it. Season 3 might be my fave, personally. David Thewlis is haunting as the main antagonist, along with Goran Bogdan, who gives off some eerie Anton Chigurh vibes. Each series riffs of many Coen Bros films. x
Three things ... 1: Fargo is great (both the TV show and the movie) 2: I'm surprised you didn't notice Better Call Saul's Betsy Kettleman (playing the now-widowed wife of the police chief) 3: Fargo season 3 is an underrated gem and I will be thoroughly disappointed if you stop before that
Billy Bob Thorton's character Lorne Malvo is like the devil, he corrupts everyone he comes in contact with. Another interesting character he reminds me of is the Joker from the Dark Knight. He likes to pit people against each other and thrives on chaos. That last scene with Billy Bob and Colin Hanks is one of my favorite scenes of any TV show. His speech gives me chills. “Let me tell you what's gonna happen, Officer Grimly. I'm going to roll my window up, then I'm going to drive away, and you're gonna go home to your daughter, and every few years, you're gonna look at her face and know that you're alive because you chose not to go down a certain road on a certain night. That you chose to walk into the light instead of into the darkness.” - Lorne Malvo
I LOVE this series. So excited you are reacting to it. You're going to love it. Lorne Malvo is in my top 10 for villains. Just chaotic evil. He is so malicious. A pure psychopath. I still have to watch season 4.
Seeing how much you are into it, I remember I felt absolutely the same. This must be the most exiting first episode in television history. And thinking how much happened just in one episode, it could be a plot for like a half of a season
