Questo film mi è rimasto nel cuore.. Bravissimo il protagonista Stefano Dionisi ma anche gli altri attori... Belli i costumi.. Tutto.. Un bellissimo film da rivedere
yeah, well... you're torturing me right now. I wish I could have listened to his real voice. I love this imitation to the point that it makes me sad that the mix of Ewa and Derek is not an actual human voice. So every time I am told that Farinelli sang even better than this, I burn in desire to listen to him and I can't :(
Look up Dimash Kudaibergen.. you will be amazed...he sings opera and pop and everything else... has a 6 octave range... can sing like a castrato but also downrange to baritone.. a world's marvel, living right now!

Вообще-то его фамилия была Broschi, а Farinelli - это его сценический псевдоним. Да были такие голоса раньше, т.к. были кастраты. Не один только Фаринелли. Но мы сейчас сами судить не можем, только составить какое-то мнение по отзывам очевидцев. Говорят, что у alto Senesino голос был даже лучше, чем у soprano Farinelli, но у Фаринелли была самая красивая внешность, этим сочетанием он в историю и вошел. Но, то, что раньше делал нож, сейчас делают может еще и гениальней лучшие контртеноры мира техникой пения как тот же Derek Lee Ragin. Только его голос был искусственно соединен на компьютере с сопрано Ewa Mala-Godlewska, т.к. именно в природе такого голоса не существовало. Природа специально не кастрирует. Бывает природная аномалия как например голос Paulo Abel do Nascimento...
@@serenaluceваш анализ чрезвычайно интересен. Сейчас меня из всех современных контр- теноров больше всего восхищает Франко Фаджиолли. Благодаря его низкому нёбу, как говорят, голос его обладает особой глубиной и красотой. Особенно Фаджиоли был прекрасен в опере «Артаксеркс» да Винчи. Там столько звезд, в этой опере! Наверное величайшим счастьем было видеть эту оперу в Версале в 2014 году. Я могла видеть только в записи. Не могу себе представить подобный шедевр еще когда- либо. Ведь голоса тоже стареют, и вряд ли можно повторить это необыкновенное действо, если собрать тех же самых исполнителей сейчас, в 2022 году.
Этого голос намного "взрослее" и не похож звучанием на кастратов. Голос Фаринелли можно "услышать" из описания современника. Шарль де Бросс: ""Для того чтобы наслаждаться голосами кастратов, к ним надо привыкнуть. Их тембр чист и пронзителен, как у мальчиков из хора, но при этом они куда более мощны; создается впечатление, что их диапазон на октаву выше, чем у природного женского голоса. Голоса кастратов всегда немного суше и резче, этим они отличаются от молодого нежного голоса женщин; однако при этом они блестящи, легки, полны, они искрятся, они очень мощны и обладают широчайшим диапазоном".
One of my most favorite films. With as much research that I have done, however, I realize that the film was designed to be good entertainment, not accurately biographical. It is about 10% Farinelli, 20% taken from other singers' lives, 20% the Baroque era and opera history, & 50% just made-up story. Also, I wish they had used the voices of Andreas Scholl & Gundula Janowitz.
@@Trensharothe real castrati voice that was recorded was Alessandro Moreschi, it was very androgynous sounding voice, something like boys voice with stronger power and strong high notes ( female kind of)

The used to be ny fav ART movie, for me opera obsessed and loving baroque music! I had pictures of the cover and a sciene in frame at my wall hanging, so much I loved this fantastic movie
It is known that his voice was excellent at a very young age. When he was 15 years old he probably would sung just like15 yo boy soprano Bejuna Mehta (keywords "Bejuna Mehta sings So Shall the Lute and harp Awake"). Bejun as boy soprano had voice similar to that of Alessandro Moreschi, and a little like Derek Ragin. But we can not imagine what happened next.
I am sorry to disappoint you all but this is the ONLY track in the soundtrack which is sung entirely by Derek Lee Ragin, this was an unblended track... The unblended track sung by Ewa Małas-Godlewska was "Lascia ch'io pianga" the rest of the tracks are Ewas' and Derek's voices blended together.
That's great to know. I own the film's soundtrack CD and I don't think, if I remember correctly, the booklet text actually specifies this, which is annoying.

I agree. Fashion in the Rococo style, specially was magnificent. Now day's masculine fashion is full of taboos. It would bother me to see a man dressed as elaborately as this. I would think it beautiful. But for society, dressing like this now means the poor guy is a cross dresser or just gay. Its so infuriating. And I'm a girl, I would like fashion to change towards what it was before. So much more freedom.

@acerb45666555 yes i agree. What we call fashion is extremely boring and dull these days. What the upper class wore back then was more interesting. But casual clothing for today is just dumb. Sometimes I wonder what people back then would think of our clothing if they could take a glimpse of today's time.
has anyone noticed how fashion changed all the time with the rulers and public of those times. yet for some reason, for the past 100 years all we see is the same boring dull standard grey suits! with boring short hair! all the rulers look like low grade boring junior accountants from 1934!!! its so unsightly!
