Might be time to collect the super H and super M a super mta and MD! You’ve cornered the market on Cubs ! We use what the manufacturer calls for on oil!
Awesome Cub! I have a 49 set up the same way with the blade. I'm thinking you still may want chains, even with ag tires. I'm in northern WI and I'm sure our winters are similar. I added weight the first year plowing with mine, but found out that after the snow was packed down, I still lacked traction, especially on a slight incline. Added chains and what a difference. Was amazed how much it pushed.Otherwise good luck and keep the great content coming!
Hey , You told the facts , old timers used quaker state, young whipper snapper put valveline HD and your engine got a stopped up pump screen, old super A did have a leaky hydraulic pump ,cutting my teeth on Super A
Those chains will make a difference but I only ran them one winter and the rest of the time I didn’t worked either way chains are great if there’s a layer off ice under the snow
Careful using detergent oil in hydraulic systems the detergent can mess with orings depending on what’s they are made of. I did it once used t1 and my tc pump o ring failed. Dumb luck or not I should of known better but I thought mine was a seal not an oring.
@@FarmallFanatic at least if it leaks into the engine you won’t contaminate your engine oil with hydraulic oil. When my oring failed I didn’t catch it in a timely manner and it hurt my pump shaft so I needed to get a new pump shaft. Hoping it doesn’t happen to you. I use Lucas universal now it’s 20w sae. Seems to work good and no issues. As always love the videos!
@@FarmallFanatic the engine I’m running she’ll Rotella t5 15w40. Seems like a good oil for year round. 20 psi at idle and 40. At wide open. I also run 7 ozs of restore engine restorer and 1/2 quart of Lucas oil stabilizer in the engine. I did run t1 30w but it was to thick for winter and I only change the oil once a year.
Excellent video Gino :) my dad used Hy Tran 80w90 differential fluid plus transmission from Harmac or called it ESSO in Ontario Canada plus 10w30 engine oil HDX Plus all years in gas combine motor was Farmall H basic motor and plus Desiel tractors ! But in Cockshutt COOP 40 15-40 Rottila Shell brand then last 20 years use 10w30 engine oil!
@@FarmallFanatic mine runs good at least. I’ll give it that. Going after another one Monday. It’s a 58-64 model but it says INTERNATIONAL instead of Farmall. The lady says her grandfather bought it brand new from the dealership that used to be in her shop In Vermont. Has a bunch of incomplete attachments and she doesn’t know where the rest of the parts are🤔
Love your collection and love the fact that you still work them all. As a kid I have perhaps 100’s of hours on a cub. I believe it may be time for a gated addition…haha. Love the vids!
No clamps ? Those plastic joints will swell and shrink depending on the season . I tried that barbed connector when replacing my fuel lines on my former green machine . There was a 9 volt battery box right below the sediment bowl towards the steering column . I had a group of finches that decided to use that battery box and both parents and the chicks must have used that connector to sharpen their beaks , I thought the gas leak was sediment bowl fitting into the tank , nope those birds kept hitting that connector and cracked it and that was the cause of my gasoline leaking out . 😂😂😂😂
On my 1950 Super A it calls for 10w oil for the Touch- Control. I've had the seal on the hydraulic pump go out and it will pump the oil from the Touch-Control reservoir into the engine.
You Can't go wrong using Rottella products, I have been using it in all my tractors combines and trucks for over 35 + years and have had very long service life with my equipment.
