In this first installment of Georgia Organics’ Farmer Toolkit Series, Jamila Norman of Patchwork City Farms (a diversified vegetable farm based in Atlanta) will go over her favorite long-handled farm tools and their diverse uses in cultivating her farm’s production beds and walking rows. Then, Spike Fullerton of Sweet Hone Atlanta (a tool and kitchen sharpening business based in Atlanta) will go over how any farmer can use a simple clamp and flat file sharpener or a handheld diamond set sharpener sharpen to get better use of their tools and be more efficient. Lastly, Jamila will demonstrate how to cure the wooden part of her long-handled tools to extend their shelf life.
