P.M. Murugesan, a farmer from Madurai has found a way to convert waste banana fibre into ropes and other useful products.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised Murugesan’s agro-innovation in making wealth out of plantain waste during the recent Mann Ki Baat programme.

if only the Punjab and Haryana farmers learn from People like these to stop burnging the stubble and create value adding activity. Thanks to Media team of PM Modi to find these people include in his speechs.. So that Media house which always want to talk about negative news are forced to put these articles as well in this publications.. though one may not agree with all the policies of Govt, we should appreciate them for these activties.. Like awarding Padma Shri to commoners than many of the Govt's sychophants or Delhi centred approach in the erstwhile regimes.

Better to sell domestic & international market via integrity channels. Amazon looting money by charging abnormal commission. One of my friend author of one book selling offline book via Amazon - selling price 60 in which Amazon commission 40 and rest 20 is giving the author( here Amazon commission double than author getting price -they are looting money straightaway that should understand. Should encourage new Indian entrepreneurs - start up companies in e commerce platform with dignity & integrity model by following Atma nirbhar Bharat

The only thing they focus on is how to cheat customers Hence people prefer foreign retailers Don't fall for the propaganda atmanirbar With 1.3 billion population is it possible to be atmanirbar It is possible in South India but almost impossible in North India bcoz 100 cr population lives there

I request everybody who really love our mother land and mother nature . Please plant atleast 10-20 sampling of different fruit tree for their uses and 5 indigenous tree on public place for pollution control. If 50 people will do promise to plant tree in this rainy season ,it will really helpful for us and for our upcoming generation

More refined banana fibre proucts were made by rural women in parts of Kerala and Kanyakumari district .The products were purely made hand using the dyed and plain shining fibre extacted by hand plaited into ropes.Bags , coasters table matds,purses, baskets wall peices etc were the products . They are available in Kairali handicrafts shoowrooms and Poompuhar Handiy Showroom and private craft shops in Kerala and Kanyakumari. The Office of the Development Commissioner Handicrafts had conducted several training programs to propagate this rural craft.....

in the Philippines the banana fibre is commonly used for ropes. but looking at the fibres in this video I reckon the Indian method of processing is different. the philippine method produces silk like fibre. but here the width of the fibre is more.
