Today my family and I were visiting the Age of Steam Roundhouse in nearby Sugarcreek. It just so happened to be Holmes County test day, and this unrecorded Vortex happened to be 5 minutes away, so it all worked out. I was expecting it to do all sorts of signals, since the other Vortex's in the county do, but instead I got full wail. Holmes County only goes for about 30 seconds, so I was surprised it ran for a full 3 minutes. The county ended up testing late, since there was an ongoing fire at the time. Thankfully after I called at about 11:04, tones dropped just as I hung up the phone. I felt like I was playing Russian Roulette, as I finally found their frequency, and I wasn't sure which set it would go on (probably about 10 sets of DTMF before this one actually activated, but I cut those out). Finally after what felt like hours, it booped and crackled it's way to life! The echoes thought the test were phenomenal, especially the wind down as they rolled through the Amish filled hills. This siren scared a horse that was under it as it wound up too! All in all it was a good test. Unfortunately my Vixia which I've had for over 2 years, and has been beaten to crap, won't be my secondary camera anymore. It will now become the BTS camera. The screw that goes on the tripod is stripped, so it just slides off the tripod; hence the somewhat crooked secondary shot. Unless I can order a new screw for it, it'll be the new BTS Camera. At points you may be able to faintly hear the 2001-130 coming from nearby Charm. Other than that, it was a pretty solid test! Enjoy!
