This is a manually constructed virtual sound environment using 3D spatial audio techniques.
When sound has been recorded as standard stereo audio, it loses all the information your brain uses to tell you where the sound is coming from. Spatial audio simulation allows us to regain a lot of this information. In this ambience, I have attempted to process, mix and position audio all around you using spatial audio technology to create a more immersive rain experience.
Believable 3D audio is achieved using HRTF filtering. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Head-re...
HRTF is a technology used to emulate spatial audio by attempting to mimic the acoustics of human hearing. It has been most widely adopted to allow games to portray accurate positional audio. It is now being used to enrich movie and music experiences via standards like Dolby Atmos.

I used to go camping with my dad a lot and he had a canopy on the back of his car. Him and I would just sleep in there and my brother in a tent. This reminds me so much of that becuase we could hear the rain on the metal of the car and on the canopy. It's so calming to me❤️
