Its really pretty. I am just realizing that some journals are so busy and so jam packed with imagery and embellishments that I get anxiety looking at it all......I think the ones which work best for me are minimalist, with softness, and not too many things going on. Maybe even ways to remove stuff is more palpable for me - I had significant trauma so my brain seems to enjoy looking at "space".
what texture that grain sack adds! I thought of my ancestors who were all farmers the whole time I watched the video. I hope it's fun for you that 3 years later your video is being watched and inspiring others!
this is an awesome journal .... these textiles from grain sack to lace are such a perfect backdrop for the Farm theme. TFS....Now to keep a lookout for grain sacks!
Thank you for such a nice compliment! I hope you find one and create a journal with one too! I bought a couple more and I can't wait to make more journals with them. :-)
New stubbie, yippee , Love love your work. As for the thumbs down ?? Wonder what they are producing?? I wish that icon was removed, so disrespectful, we don’t need this option, it outrages me. I am inspired, thank you. Warm regards from New Zealand where making people feel down isn’t tolerated. Keep up your fantastic work, look forward to watching more vids.
I love the horse photo. I'm pretty sure that horse is a Morgan. My favorite breed. I really miss mine. He passed a few years ago. He was 29 and my bestie for 24 years. "Excalibur" (not his registered name) Love the Journal too!!
Oh my heavens this journal is gorgeous! All the lace, stitching, textiles and farm themed pictures and on and on! My sister has a mini farm and she would die for this, (so would I) its just so beautiful. I have a really dumb question so everyone please forgive me, but what do you do with journals like these - other than druel and look at them all day, lol?? Do you write about events or special memories, etc., it' not for daily journaling right? Its so pretty I would hate to do anything but admire it!! I'm still learning I guess... Anyway I'm glad I found your channel, new subbie for sure! Thank you for sharing your talent with us!!
Cheryl, Would you recommend using the tinted chalk paint wax? or the clear wax when trying to waterproof a photo as you did on your cover here. (I did make two covers from a grain sack and I really like the texture of that cloth!!) if I choose to add a print to my cover I want it protected as well.
I love your junk journal. I have a question: in those signatures where you have pages sewed, did you put two pages together to make them sturdier or you just sewed one page and the sewing is decoration? Thanks!
Hi Christina, unfortunately, Cheryl is no longer a member of the Design Team so I can't check for you. When I make a journal, if I want to stitch on paper I normally do the sewing and then glue a piece of paper over the back. This conceals the knot in the thread and also makes it sturdier. Hope this helps!
This would make the most fabulous gift for someone who’s moving into a farmhouse, something they’ve been dreaming about for many years, and now it’s come true!! Btw...the people that left the thumbs down only wish they could create something like this!!
It’s beautiful! I have a membership as well and currently using the images to make my own digitals. Love them all. Tfs your gorgeous journal! Hugs, Dawn
I don't even know where to begin. This journal is one of the most amazingly beautiful ones I've ever seen and I've seen quite a few. The work - the love - that you've put into this journal shines through! It's simply breathtaking. I can't wait to see the one I've purchased! It will be my BEST birthday present ever!! :-)
Fascinated watching your video and the creation you have designed. Such a wonderful journal, excellent ephemera and compulsive viewing. Just love everything. New subbie
Hi Cheryl: I just saw this video and am in awe of how beautiful the result is. It is very fitting that I saw this as I am just beginning a farmhouse journal for a design client of mine who is restoring their family farm before they move in. I wanted to give them something that they could record the history of the family farm as well as all the work they've done to bring it up to date while maintaining its original charm. Thanks for the inspiration!!!! Truly beautiful
