Farming on Mount Leinster with Tomás McCarthy 

i was at a trial back in the summer that Ken Cummins put on around the edge of mount Leinster in the Blackstairs Mountains.
there is a big television mast on the top of Mt Leinster. it is the highesst point in the Blackstairs mountains and the views are great from it.
you can see 5 counties of Ireland on a clear day and Tomás McCarthy was telling me that you can see the mountains in North Wales on a clear day
Tomás brought myself and Brian Casey up to see where he grazes his sheep on the mountain. Brian Casey is a well known hillman and sheepdog trialist from Tipperary. Tomás is also a dog trainer and trialist as well as being a sheep shearer. Tomás hasnt done much sheepdog trials in recent years becuase he just has too much work on with all his sheep and hillfarming
we were very grateful to him for taking us up and giving us some of the local history and eapecially for telling us about the Nine Stones
