Yes on the pipes going from one quill for you to the other but please make it so we can see through the pipes it'll be cool just watch them running back and forth
Great video, The half white, tuxedo quail is a male because it has distinct red feather at its butt, that's how you can tell the difference with these tuxedo button quails.
@@joridiehl7933 also true a quick guess is that only the fully grey one is a female. The whole white one also looks like a male. You can compare their feet. Males have brighter orange feet. That's why you find so few eggs. Maybe change a couple with the other cage.
You do have a lot of quails and they are beautiful little creatures. I saw the most epic way a family made the coolest Quail Pen. (Wildwood Wonder) just to give you an idea of making it bigger and more of an aviary with plants. You could use your existing pens and stack them and add to a bigger more roomy place with chicken wire for viewing. Just a thought.
Hey Blake, what kind of wood are your smaller enclosures(the quail, tegu and old crocodilian habitat) made out of? I'm really into designing cages and habitats, but have heard mixed things on what wood to use. Also are you going to put your eclectus parrot in the aviary build?
Blake, you need to lay hardware cloth on the ground, out side of the enclosures. Cover with dirt. They can not dig through the wire to get in. Hardware cloth around the outside walls. will keep them from coming through the wood.

Agree I raised them for years and like u said once they get a taste of the yolks they will break not just there own, but any egg and then it's a chain reaction If u have a bunch of chickens. We used to have to put the cracker on the chopping block if u were raising the chickens for eggs. If u were raising for meat then not a problem but then again they really wouldn't be of age to start laying or the right breed for laying eggs. On the same note, u can feed and it's good for them to have egg shells in there diet. But these shells should never have yolks in them, and should be cleaned thoroughly before crushing into VERY TINY PIECES and added to there food. I preferred oyster or clam shells less work cleaning them especially when your feeding 5 to 10 thousand chickens at any given time lol Besides u can buy bulk bags of oyster and clam shells ;)
Was just thinking the same it's encouraging them to eat there own,,, yeah good calcium and good for quality egg production but don't want to feed directly mix up in there diet

You do no they aren't button quails right? They are king quails and quite often misleadingly called button quails ,they are the smallest of the "true quails " and a different species to the button quails!
Blake can we get an update on the exotic birds you purchase a couple months ago? I’m just curious cuz I didn’t see them when you were doing the counting in the last video. The birds I’m talm bout are the ones u said are best left alone cuz they act more wild

Good idea drill and making the hutches connect But I think you should leave the hutches how there are cause they were hard to come by and they are good how they are for separation. I think damaging those quail hutches will be a bad idea.😁👍
Blake a quail highway sounds so cool. They make clear pipe and sell it at home depot. I also think it would be cool to make it have two levels so they have like 4 different places to run
Yes quail highway but you should also do a huge enclosure for the quails and let them do there thing in. Like the capybara enclosure, but not a huge pond lol

Love them little quails kept a dozen or so in my avairy,, diamond doves are a nice little bird to keep as well had them in with zebra finches budgies and canaries
9:28 the pied is a male, the colouring on the dorsal of the quail, is male colouring. You can also see the deep brown colour at the back end, a male only trait.
