you know, everyone seems to believe its easoer to handle bales... but why... you need a vehicle which may not be at all cheap thats heavy enough to not tip you have to do all the extra work to bale ot balance it onto trailers that can only be stacked so high, forge wagon to silo so much easier to handle faster less work, dedicate a silo to nothing but straw amd grass... bale as needed works untill you get the equipment when you can afford it, stockpile loose straw bale later and anything produced when you have equipment for it, bale then if so wish but honestly filling a trailer up transporting loose straws so much easier then bales... sure maybe more in a bale and silage can be prpduced from bales..

I feel dumb for asking this but what can I use to get my hay from the storage so I can drop it to make bale?

That huge straw pickup trailer looks highly unrealistic for a small farm and you’d never get it through the gates. More realistically you would borrow or rent a small baler, turn the straw into rectangular bales and then manually load them onto a trailer. At least that is how we used to do it in Somerset/Dorset UK back in the last century and I dont imagine small us farms would be much different. More recently You see large round bales increasingly on medium sized and larger farms and those need to be loaded onto trailers with some kind of front loader.

I’m using the exact forager. When I pull up to the hay barn I get “Action cannot be completed here”. I’ve tried several forage wagons with no success to unload at the storage facility. Thoughts?

Make sure your using the correct hay barn. There’s a couple of different ones. The one I’m using in this video is a mod.

i got a question, How do i chop up bales to use as food/bedding for animals i got a few small square bales of grass and a big bale of a grass and like 2 straw bales but no clue how to use it i got a shed that has a spot of nun but grass (dumped it out of trailer) and use that to feed all the animals.

I wanna say that theres no way to chop those bales? Don't hold me to that though. Lemme do a bit of research and if I come up with something, I'll definitely do a vid on it.

Those choppers only work with straw. It won't work with grass bales. Makes no sense to me either

What I did to chop bales is that i placed them on the tool that creates the Bedding for the Animals, and Started to Unload and it started converting to lose hay maybe it works for straw too, also you can send it tothe Hay Loft but cannot use the same tool to fill it up, guess it must be filled manually as the trigger doesn't appear.

my problem is I had everything set for bales but got sick of moving the bales around or cleaning them up after a stack would fall over. so i made the switch to hay lofts and silage bunkers. problem im having is my straw blower seem to only take bales and i cant figgure out how to get straw into my cow barn without making bales. Anyone else have this issue or know if there is another way to do it?

So what you need to do is get yourself a loading wagon or better known as a “Forage Wagon.” Once you harvest your field, get your loading wagon, lower the pickup, turn it on, and it’ll suck the loose straw, grass, hay, etc into the wagon. After you’ve got it all, take it to that loft, drive up to the drop off point and once your in position, it’ll prompt you on how to unload it from there.

I'm looking for this too. I'm guessing "hay loft" really means straw loft. Stupid game!

No but what you can do is get a forage wagon, load up all your loose straw, grass, hay, etc and then put that into the loft. That’s how I do it.

Just get the Tool to create bedding and put the bales in and Unload, it will shoot out whatever bale was to loose. Did it with Hay bales and went to Lose Bales

My case throws the the straw... is it because of the model. There's no nice rows.

It’s because you don’t have “Straw Swath” enabled more than likely. When you get into your harvester. Hit the F1 for your drop down menu. It’ll tell you how to enable that. If your on console, I believe it’s down on the D-Pad? If your on PC it’s the comma key.

Load it into a forage wagon, choose the "unload here" option, and drive off in a line. It will become a line you can then run over with a baler

After your done placing the signs down, you can delete them. You’ll see what I mean once you see the video.
