This Video clearly demonstrate how to harvest spinach leaves without harming the mother plant. This allows the plant to continue producing more leaves for harvest. The spinach that are very healthy were planted without any fertilizer but watered regularly. No Industrial Pesticides or chemicals used apart from clean water that helped flash out pests. Am glad to have come across your channel. Do you mind walking us through the entire process, well for those of us who desire to grow spinach in Kenya but have very little gardening experience. I'd really appreciate any help.

I have another video in my channel that shown how you can grow spinach and sukuma wiki seeds in plastic container to germinate. You will also see another one where we are transplanting them to bigger plastic container to grow. In case you want to plant directly to the small garden. Just prepare the garden. Set a side a small part.. 1m by 1m for spinach nursery or even summa. Make rows and plant the seeds each hole with one seed not so deep in the ground. Cover then apply soil to cover the ground .this prevent weeds growing and evaporation of soil. Continue watering everyday. After the seeds germinate then remove the soil and make a small shed for yhem at yhe nursery. When the seedlings are about 30cm tall transplant

Then transplant to your small garden 30cm apart then keep watering them morning and evening. Then you will see them grow well. The spinach and sukuma in different area at the garden not same place.

You just need to prepare your small garden. Then set up a small nursery where you will place the spinach or kales to grow for some time.then when ready then transplant them to the small garden and keep watering them morning ,day and evening I did not put any fertilizer..as I do dig the ground few cm more deeper whenever I want to make new plantation.bye

1 Remove all affected leaves to reduce the insects eating the leaves,, 2 regularly supervising your vegetables 3 use water spray to dust down the insects eating your vegetables you don't just have to use the chemicals ,, as water can do,, 4 use chicken train them as they can be useful especially at a young age as they may end up feeding on the insects on your vegetable leaves,,, thanks,,

Oh This is good it is in Machakos at Joska area.. and at the nursery i never used any fertilizer,, and the spinach never used any chemicals or any fertilizers.. even during growth period i never used any pesticides only water and checking them all the time,,,I bought the seeds in town in Nairobi and are collard type..

Sometimes you may find whiteflies or even caterpillars. . You may use your chicken to eat them up.. 1 feed your chicken well.. then take them To the garden they will eat all the worms..do it several times until they get used to eating them 2 remove all the affected leaves and remain with clean ones this reduces the worms 3 spray the leaves with water as as this drops the worms.. I did it and it worked.

i just use manure from my chicken not all the time,, but i also ensure that the ground is well dug before planting

I bought my seeds from simlaws and got the collards both spinach and kales. .No chemicals or any fertiliser was used just the normal soil that is black cotton found in joska area in machakos county..
