That was a lot of very hard work but so worth it! The weather we've had was horrendous so you have done really well not to sink into a muddy oblivion 😀 It was great to see the horses and dogs helping too 🤣👍👌

@clare999 Thank you so much, that means such a lot as always. I have to admit its taken me a week to find all the footage and put this video together and I had forgotten how much we had done! I really can't remember it looking like that in the first place! My brain is just shocking though. We are battling against the ragwort at the minute, its like a jungle! 2 thirds out so far and barrow fulls coming out every day. Its relentless but my word it is so worth it!!! xXx

What a team you are, fantastic job. In all my years of doing horses I felt the winter just past was the worst I've ever been through.keep up the good work

@karenmackinnon7385 I thought exactly the same! It was just so wet and the mud was like nothing Ive ever known. We took on this field and rescued three foals in the January which is why I started the RU-vid channel. It just got wetter and wetter and I was sinking to my knees! There was no guttering and big holes in the roof but there was so much rubble that it took a while to get to that bit :-) Thank you so much for your comment, its just so wonderful to know that people are actually watching these little videos and it really does encourage me to keep going with it x

Make the stalls smaller and you want have to put as much hay in the stall and it will be easier to keep clean
@EssentiallyLivingtheDream
@EssentiallyLivingtheDream 6 дней назад
Thank you so much for your comment @janicelane8979 We don't use them as traditional stalls, we just leave them open all the time so its more of a field shelter. Toby my blind horse is 44 and he has never accepted going into a stable but he is loving these because they are open 24 hours a day. Plus they like to all stand in there together like the 3 amigos!

What latitude is your farm located in? I'm asking because of the winter season.
@EssentiallyLivingtheDream
@EssentiallyLivingtheDream 6 дней назад
We are 51.51 degrees North of the equator @janaj.8696 so at the minute we very rarely see any snow we just have endless rain! We've had a couple of weeks of sunshine which has been wonderful but apart from that all it ever does is rain! The flooding and mud problems we had when we very first took on the land last year is starting to rear its ugly head again also. We are currently looking into what we can do for drainage around the stables so we can at least keep the high footfall areas as dry as possible. Last year there were parts where you sank to your knees!

youre lucky no one reported animals living in inappropriate conditions,should have been removed,till land in good enough condition, not good at all
@EssentiallyLivingtheDream

Hello @mechanics4all405 and thank you so much for your concern. Its crazy to think that our land ever even looked like this! This is just a quick 6 months time lap of the work hat we did and if you ever watch our vlogs then you'll see that they were never in any danger and that they are incredibly well looked after. We ended up on this land because we lost our old land quite suddenly and we couldn't find anywhere else. I had also rescued 3 colts from the slaughter house and was in a bit of a nightmare! The areas with the rubble and falling down side was fenced off each night when we left and was not accessible to the horses. There was nothing we could do about the mud as it was deep winter and our current vlogs are all about how we are tackling the mud in time for this years winter. Sometimes you are thrown into a situation where you have to just make do and appreciate what you have and this was one of those situations. Again thank you so much for commenting and for your concerns but they are always priority to me and I thought it would be good for people to see how you can make a bad situation into a dream one if you have hope and work really very hard.

@@EssentiallyLivingtheDream thanks for honest reply,and you can see the efforts you have put in,obviously first choice would be prepare land etc,then bring in livestock,as you have explaned your situation,and the standards are now good,I would like to congradulate you for all your efforts and acheivement.Thanks for honest reply❤❤❤❤❤good luck in future

Thank you so much@@mechanics4all405 its very much an ongoing project and I think it will take a few years to get to where it needs to be. Problem is we keep finding new problems! Its so tough when you're on a budget but I guess if we had unlimited funds then the horses would be living in custom built stables, but I don't think that would be as satisfying for us because it is so emotionally rewarding (as well as physically draining) to do it all yourself! 😃
