Your english is getting much better. Top effort. Love your content because you've thought this through. Most of the other content creators are obviously just focused on being first instead of best.

Tbh when i play arid the 1st thing i try to find is boar spot 2nd is wolf den Boar can yield 1800 meat yearly when hunted but problem they scare away youre hunter when hunted which need to be manually hunt them. But it can still be auto farmed 1st fence it 13 by 13 does not matter if they run just hunt them to respawn them back to fence then build watch and hunter cabin Hunters may run away but not watch tower but this method will deplete boar and lower 1200 meat per year but they respawn faster than deer and on tha same spot just dont build any inside except watch tower they dont move the respawn point
@MLMariss
@MLMariss Год назад
This is why I would advise deer spot! Also the trick with fence, and you can get as much and even higher meat rate, lower risk depleating (especially the 7 deer spots) and no running away/ attacking your civilians ;)
@asti1337
@asti1337 Год назад
1 hunter can't kill deer spot, it can be next to it. Have to be carefull when other hunters have area somewhere where they go by this spot though since they attack anything on the way so they can start killing it. Missed the main point on fields - growing on 0 fertility means you don't need to have clover as every second culture or care at all how much fertility a crop decays. Would need to test what gives more yield in the end, but might be quite similar with a lot regular income of half yields than less full yields. Also needs testing if 0 inital fertility has any impact on fertility decay once you get it up (is fertility sustainable) - so, the standard scenario where everyone usually first raises clover every year until fields fertility is max and then just grow it as every second culture or something like that. Another point is that especialy with many fields, you usualy can employ only half or even less workers, they might always have late harvest, but why that is a bad thing? its not like they have anything else to do in that time.
@MLMariss
@MLMariss Год назад
A lot of points :D Will try to number them: 1) one hunter can eliminate deer spot - not only the hunter cabin must be near, but also household, then there will be little to no time for anything else and deers will die faster than they respawn 2) I would say that was part of the idea - you have 0 fertility and you deal with that without clover crops, but yea, this can but said like you did as well! And then on top of that - fertility drops by huge amount every year, so there is no point to even think and try to fight it! 3) Half yield fields will not generate more outcome than full yield fields because they have to use clover fertility regenerating crops in between - count in the fact on fertile land you can use high fertility dependent corps with way higher overall yields ;) 4) There is no impact - fertility goes down drastically and stays at zero - first 1-2 years you will have a bit above 0% fertility but that's it 5) This should be tested on high fertility land - I think it's unbalanced game mechanics that currently allows you to manage 4/7 worker fields with no impact at all We need many more patches and updates to even understand which is bugs and which parts are unfinished mechanics but intended to work! :D I'll keep and eye, thank you for the comment and ideas!
@Kessra
@Kessra Год назад
On medium difficulty one hunter with a bit of distance (not as much as in Mariss video) can farm up to 5 deer in a single year per spot. I guess with less distance it might be able to hunt more and eventually extinct those deer in the end, especially considering harder difficulties.
@MLMariss
@MLMariss Год назад
Also, cannot confirm if intentional or bug, but I got a situation with 1 deer where respawn is already off. I think it's intentional - as in Barn if you purchase just 1 cow, there will be no herd grow. Kind of logical, but that put's 7 deer spot in danger as only 5 can be hunted!

I wonder if you could use the grazing lands from cows to build the fruit trees. Have you tried that ?

So far nothing seem to work and keep the fertility up, but you get some cool ideas - thank you for that! I'm jumping back in to test few more aspects (so far without no luck) :D

I am not seeing a lot of garbage collector? It might be good to have 3-5 to used to raise fertility?
@MLMariss
@MLMariss Год назад
Yup and you will not see many :D They only PROCESS garbage, not create them, so you need as much as your people produce. I'm currently on 400+ inhabitants and just a bit above 2 collectors (built my 3rd but it's not 100% used).

i dont know if it does have something to do with dificulty, im playing normal, but one hunter will never manage to vipe herd of deers regardless of size or hunter building proximity. And they do, for me they constantly respwans. Know this because i have a pack in my current playthrough which is sadly right on top of my farming area and is constanly respawning at my fenced farms. Have 3 hunters for that single spawn to keep it at zero.
@MLMariss
@MLMariss Год назад
This was an earlier bug they tried to fix - we all had those crazy psycho hunters that just hunted whole pack just for sport :D I'm wondering if this bug is still stuck with you or game version from the past?

Thoughts on 2 farmers per barn versus 1?
@MLMariss
@MLMariss Год назад
I haven't checked the latest versions (lies - got the latest, found there little to no new improvements and left), but the main issue is with runaway cows! Once one of them runs away, the farmer has to go get it and for whatever reason - they come back home super slow :D Then next cow runs away..and it ends up your farmer getting 0 milk :/ Once/if they fix those running away cows - then it must be teste again, but as of now - you want MAX barn workers. Milk/cheese is the easiest/best way to sustain your town.

Hammm your crops are wrong man. You should mix like, carrots+peas and/or turnips+beans. Not sure if those are the exact mixes but it's one or the other - check the soil mixture to see which ones you can combine. You pointed that out actually. Once you find out the good soil mixture that can allow to grow those pairs... Plant them. Once you find that pair, you'll barely lose fertility. You should also pair Rye+Clovers and Flux+Clovers. That way you also lose little fertility without the risk of diseases propagating... With Clovers coming last plus the winter/frost... They usually disappear by the end of season. If you get a major disease just substitute that crop with Clovers and you'll be fine. And with a population of 300.... You get fertilizer everyday! Enough for approximately 2 fields... That's +10% of fertility for 2 fields everyday! (good for the Rye and Flux fields). Not sure if what I said applies to this kind of map but... The ratio should be 2 fields for Vegetables, 1 field for Grain and 1 field for Flux. Fields big enough for 4-5 workers (find the exact size). With that population... I'd go with 5 workers for each field minimum
@MLMariss
@MLMariss Год назад
Yes, but no :D I have a feeling you are playing on easy maps with fertile land, right? This will not hold on the Arid Highland as the Compost fertility boost (at 0%) is 1% ;) Also clovers at low fertility (which is the whole map) will provide little to no fertility gains. I've set up a field to test and prove it - with clover only (should be boosting field at max) + every year compost boost. Over 10+ years I have managed to rise it to 14%. Your thought process is more than correct, but you haven't taken in account hardest difficulty map ;) Once we agree on the fertility 'issue', next up is the rotation. Your suggested combination is fastest way to catch the disease. Turnips are the only ones that don't share disease with other winter crops, adding more than 2 beans/peas in the 3 year rotation will give you disease. I have tested this over 300+ years of gameplay ;) And when it comes to the split cultures per fields, as you said: 2 for greens, 1 for grain, 1 for flax. What you are saying - when on of particular fields will be heat by heatwave or disease - you are doomed. No grain for that year (for cows), or no flax and weavers stand idle. The crop rotation literally pushes player to have a..rotation, so not going with it (as I did - every field produces every type of crops) asking for trouble. So taking all that account if you build your own rotation and field mixture with best possible outcome on the hardest difficulty - you will end up with the same what I have here :)

@MLMariss

I definitely should and I have seen some cases but not as epidemic or majority of the population hit! Once noticed I have bought some fruits or jam if I notice some from vendors. I'll include and explain it in 2nd video - mid to late game seems to focus on trading!
