Okay this is the perfect place to pose this question. Since smoke is suspended solid particles, and solids don’t belong in our lungs, "Why do people burn candles in their homes and or in close confined spaces, and they inhale the wax particles as well? That has always been my question .

We bought one. They are pretty but it burns too quickly.

Buy why doesn't the smoke rise from the top when the stick is burned from the top.

It's a colloid and when it's "Hot" it's just the air it's mixed w/ that's heated up but if you keep it cooler by smoldering the incense then it can stay cooler and fall.... Some of them are even refrigerated or cooled before putting the incense in and that helps achieve the falling smoke. 👍

I was looking at one of these on Amazon once, until I read all the reviews that said don't put it on anything nice, because all that smoke settles onto whatever is below it and leaves a nasty, black, oily residue behind that's a PIA to remove. Oh, by the way, your audio level is so far below the other shorts I've been scrolling through, I couldn't hear you without cranking my volume.

Tobacco pipe smoke doesn't rise because the ideal outcome is have the smoke cool and dry when it gets to ones mouth. It just hangs in the air if your smoking indoors.

I have one of these where the cone goes on the back of a dragon's head and the incense comes out of its mouth and lands into what looks like a mountain range, so it looks like clouds high up in the mountains.

That was cruel stopping it JUST before the smoke hits the ground

For once I actually figured out how it worked before you had the chance to explain it! This is the first time I've seen one, but damn it looks cool. I'll keep it in mind when I live someplace I could actually use it.

Why does the smoke rise once it leaves the burner? It's not the ceramic cooling the particles, because they would remain cool and keep sinking, right?

I have one of these and a bag full of the smoke things, my Mom had bought it originally because it looked cool and then realized the incense in the balls was actually horrible to breathe in (and in our case the balls we had reaked). She went back to incense sticks pretty quickly lmao

Beware these things clog with black tar quickly and need to be cleaned frequently or the hole below the cone will clog completely.

Does the air from the hole it sits upon, not also draw it down?

O my god I was actually having this problem with my greenhouse I like to meditate inside but the smoke builds up and makes the air very thine to breathe I wonder if I could apply something like this to a candle burner so the smoke rises cools down then falls out of the vent rather than rises

Well duh. Can make smoke fall in many ways, one of my favorites is to burn a bit of paper or match and cover it in a small cup, then wait a bit

I had an incense and it gave me headaches all day when it was lit. The incense candles are also bad for animals so that’s another thing.

This doesn’t make sense to me. It doesn’t go up because it has a chance to cool down, but then the smoke goes up when it floods out of the middle section. You literally see the smoke so that in this video. It happens when he says “When smoke finds its way into that cavity”

My best friend has an incense burner that’s shaped like a dragon. With the place you put the cone on its neck (it’s a buff dragon) to hide the cone. Right behind where the mouth is. So the smoke comes out of its mouth. Don’t ask me how it works, it’s black magic fuckery to me and I understand a good bit of science. 😂
